Over the last few weeks we have decided to purchase a collapsible water carrier (silicon not the cheap clear plastic ones) and a decent windbreak, guess what I think Brexit or Covid is thwarting us as no one in the UK has any stock at all.
what bits are you searching for but cannot find?

I've just bought a Ridge monkey water carrier for our picnic car, I found several collapsible ones available on Amazon and eBay

Just starting a house renovation and pretty much everything is either out of stock or doubled in price from a couple of years ago

I have to find a BPA free product as my wife is petrified of the chemicals letching into the water. It does not confirm if the The RidgeMonkey carrier is BPA free.
Outwell were making a Silicon one which was BPA free but no stock in UK at all.

We ordered kitchen units last week the salesman said to order any appliances early due to shortages. He had no financial gain as he knew we were getting them elsewhere. The kitchen is to go in extension were having built there are stories of shortages of building materials I hope they're just rumours.

Not just rumours regarding building materials, the new housing site near me where they are building 23 new homes are struggling to get anything down as they cannot get brick ties, and screws and fittings, they appear to currently only work after a lorry arrives so it’s quiet most of the time.
An acquaintance who runs a building firm making Car showrooms, and big Sheds says his estimates are fighting a losing battle pricing jobs up at present because of rampant inflation of non existent supplies. His lead in times to build are now 3 to 6 months longer.

Suppose the fact is we are building more houses and business premises now than we have for twenty years...It will take time for suppliers to increase production..Cannot believe the new builds in our area.BUSBY.

Whatever the reason I think it's pretty clear there are shortages it's probably a combination of reasons.

I don't think the delays/lack of availability has much (if anything) to do with Brexit these days as it's a global problem. The Suez Canal blockage didn't help matters either.

I visited our local Land Rover dealer the other day and they were experiencing delay issues with their vehicles due to the non availability of parts from CV19 impacting on the global system. Brexit was not mentioned once.

The kitchen people said the opposite. I suspect no-one knows and there is probably more than one cause.

We had a new front door a couple of months ago. It’s a local double glazing firm, we’ve known them for 30 years. They were saying that they are having increasing problems with supplies plus increasing prices for months now. It’s the same for the building company they work closely with. At some point those increased prices will get handed on I’m sure.

I am trying to find replacement garden table and chair, kettler brand. It says on their website there are shortages and most sellers have allocated their stock for this year but I can pre-order for 2022.

You know its happening all over the place. Its the same here in the Baltics and in America. Inflation, rising prices and product shortages.

Be prepared as something big is coming down the pike, Covid has nothing on this next issue, just my opinion but be aware.

Print money chase resources inflation is the consequence, it's not rocket science. We will learn from this!

Tell me about it.
Building polymers up 200% and rising.
Cement in short supply as Hs2 gathers speed and the building trade wakes up.
But the biggest issue for us is the lack of labour.
Everyone who was furloughed or laid off got jobs with online distributors Amazon being the main one now don't want to come back to a dirty and heavy factory for 50p more per hour.
Cardboard and paper supplies also suffering due to online demand.
Not sure where it will end really

There are several issues, one is Brexit but more than this is containers Shipping crisis: I'm being quoted £10,000 for a £1,600 container' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-55740063

our local Hot Tub supplier has run out of American Hot Tubs as there was such a huge demand last year and he won’t have any of that brand until next year. I Went To B&Q today whole shelves of screws are missing and very little electrical cable and so it goes on.....( Hit tubs were about £5K in B&Q last year there over £7k now.

Purlins, cladding and timber. All have extremely unusual lead times from my works suppliers.

And the price of steel is scarily high.
