Is anyone else get scam emails with no apparent purpose ?

They are labelled Test9876565x ( or similar ) and contain random text, no attachment, no apparent threat.

Yes i have had a few both for home email and work. I just report them as spam.

Get a few,,, but they go straight into my "Junk"..

So just delete.. (y)

Yes - I've had one today.

Yes from a friend but he hadn't sent it, I'm not sure he knows how but he too had one from his son who hadn't sent it either so someone has lifted their addresses. Happened a while back too from another friend who had his email "compromised" as he put it.

Yup, regular as well as loads of other crap! The one that gets on my nerves more than most is the one that promises to enlarge my penis, why didn't they make that offer 40 years ago!!!! :D

Could be someone who's bought a list "testing" your email address to see if it's live. If you respond, you'll probably get invaded with spam. My email programme usually filters them out into the junk box.

Happens with phones too - we've all picked up a ringing phone to find nobody there - result for the caller. I've invested in one of those nuisance callblockers that BT sell and programmed out anybody who doesn't leave a number or international calls. Number of nuisance calls gradually decreasing (the phone tells me about them but doesn't ring).

Found this one in the Google mail spam box ..
