Just bought a Rio 340 and it has a problem with electric bed operation. The manual suggests it can be operated manually by turning a nut on the end of the motor but gives no information about how to access motor. Does anyone know if the motor is easily accessible and if indeed the bed can be lowered and raised manually?

I do know that we've had many electric bed failures logged in here. Try using the search facility.

My guess would be that the motor spins hundreds of times to raise/lower, doing it hand will be a serious effort. Emergency only.

Thanks for the feedback. Will try contact Swift next week to get their input.

Allen key in the end of an electric drill. Don't know who invented the electric beds in MHs but they should be taken out back and shot. We had a Pilote with an electric bed that was trouble after a couple of months. Sold it after a year just got fed up with it.

I wonder if the previous owner had problems?

Now you are a Swift owner you can sign up to Swift Talk using the link below.

I have visited that forum many times in the past but not recently but can still remember a large number of posts from people with Rio van's having the same problems and a fix may be available.

Welcome aboard and good luck.
