Don’t actually know what caused this, but when I disconnextend my EHU at the C&MC in York, the EHU socket was blackened and burnt and so was the plug itself. Both had that nauseous burning smell about them too. There was no sign of any melting or burning inside the old socket, which was reassuring and no damage, fraying or signs of burning on the electric cable either.

The EHU cable I’ve had for the past 10 years and has never showed signs of any problems before, but for safety’s sake, I’ve replaced both the EHU socket into the van, threw away the old one and brought a new 14mtr cable, so hopefully no repeats when we’re away next.

Just thought I’d pass this on, as it’s always worth it for the Funster gang.

The right pin Socket that goes to that pin is loose had one the same sent it back .
there was not a good way to repair it .even by nipping the socket pin a bit .

the socket not the pin streatches and moves about over time
due to plugging and unplugging.

you did th3 best thing by replacing them both…..
