Hello

Our camping EHU lead only has one end with the blue connector, the other end is where you plug in your appliances.

SO with a MH I can see that both ends are blue, but can we use our current EHU set up to charge a MH from our shed, by using an extension lead plugged into the EHU plug sockets and then into power in the shed please?

cheers jakki

You need something like this

Broken Link Removed

I've just realised what you have. Better I think to use an EHU cable with blue at both ends

Broken Link Removed

and then the adaptor above.

So I need a new EHU then unless one comes with whatever we buy and then use the extension bit to plug into shed

Cheers and thank you
jakki x

No cover = male pins = end to be plugged into live feed.
With cover = female sockets= end to be plugged in to van .
It is safety. You must not have power coming out of 'male' ( Exposed) connections.

Since the 80s
The blue plugs and sockets are supposed to be 'weatherproof'. So if you are wiring one yourself, just take care that water can't dribble through where the cable goes into the plug. The design usually makes it easy to get this right.

many many years! since I was a kid
the version you have is actually worth more, so sell it on ebay and buy the correct lead. or use it for power in the garden

i have a 16amp round blue socket attached to the outside of my garage to power the motorhome and use the tent type extension lead for the power washer, trimming the trees and extra outdoor sockets when we have a bbq in the summer
