I just saw this advert, and it seems like a great idea, but can one get one big enough for a MH???
Anyone got one already?

Thought that was what reverse gear was for.
Although I did use to park my Honda Goldwing on a tin tray so I could spin it round in the garage to ride out forwards.

I saw one for hgv on a program of trucks delivering in to New York when the trucks went down in a lift, then spun around on the turn table for unloading.

going for the more money than sense market being bored in lockdown

Someone near us had one in their front garden. The house is typically narrow terraced house near what would have been the village centre. Narrow pavement and narrow road outside but very busy as near the crossroads of that one time village - now a suburb. This was a long time ago but the turntable only lasted anout 5 years and there is no sign of it now.

I see they do a 6m version, and it is ONLY £15,600.
They must be selling like hot cakes at that price:LOL:

We had one in the garage where I worked as a lad, it was a great idea, but the lads used to pop one wheel from a powerful car onto it then let it rip & the noise was incredible.

My 98 year old grandmother, who passed away some years ago had the most impressive set of scars on her leg, hip to ankle, caused by getting her leg stuck in one of those as a 5 year old kid at the turn of the last century.

There was a turntable in the small basement car park of a Brussels hotel I once stayed at. Made parking in a tight space much easier and avoided the need to reverse round tight bends either coming or going. It worked well.

M&S stores at Wigan & Ayr had them up to 2008, dont know if still there, saved having to reverse down a dog leg alley, that was as wide as the truck, used to drive onto them uncouple tractor, reverse off and shunt round while the guys turned the trailer part then recouple so you could drive out,

If you can drive forward to get to the turntable you should also be able to reverse.
If you can't reverse you could pay a neighbour a fiver a time to do it for you.

The first two pics in the link are taking the piss.... I could easily turn the car and bike around in the space given.
Seems to be a "we's got more money than yow have" type of statement

Petra Eggelstone had a lift down to there underground carpark.

They used to sell them to homes that as part of the planning permission was all motors must enter and leave in a forward gear

Drive in drive out with a lift in the middle down to the garage, room for 3 or 4 cars if I remember right.

If that was the case they would have had a turning area in the building plans.
Plus... I have NEVER heard of planning only approved if entry and exit from property is forwards.

The lovely house halfway up the hill out of Lee bay, in Devon, opposite side of the bay to the Mill house on the beach, has one. I spoke to the owner who had just exited the holiday let/garage it serves, he had it installed and loved it. I doubt the garage or little driveway was of much use without it, bugger reversing out onto that bloody hill.

There is one in our Seoul office car park. Drive in through the roller door on to the turn table and get out of the car. It then spins the car through 180 before the car is taken backwards on rollers into an underground indexing multi-story stacking system. Holds 30 or 40 cars. No problem with getting your usual car park scrapes. I do wonder if sometimes it might deliver you the wrong car when it’s home time.

there is a turntable for the old trolley busses just down the road from me. Obviously obsolete but has a preservation order on it because of the history

At a friends place we used to get 3 cars in a double garage by putting skates under the wheels and pushing one sideways. could also spin it on the spot. Much cheaper option too

At last, the solution to Fiat's "juddergate" !

I will believe it ONLY after seeing a planning application or any documentation insisting on it.
You need to get inside the M25 for a look , it’s so they can build mood houses on less space on a main road. It’s common on commercial premises as well. Was delivering near the pizza place at Peterborough. Went to reverse in and the council and police was there insisting its drive in drive out , so once in the forklifts had to shift stuff around to be able to turnaround. Another place I used to go to they had to forklift lift the back of the trailer round so as you can drive out. But if you don’t believe so be it not bothered.

There is this Highway Code rule, but its not law! (the driveway bit)

201
Do not reverse from a side road into a main road. When using a driveway, reverse in and drive out if you can.
