Just been to a local motor home dealership to inquire about trading in our 5 berth for a 2 berth as we no longer need such a big motor home. Bearing in mind we saw a 2 berth which was 2 years older than ours ( a 63 plate as opposed to our 65 plate) and were quite surprised to be offered only between £23,000 and £25,000 as a trade in. I The 2 berth was priced at £36995. I know dealers have to make a profit, but I feel that this was just extracting the urine a little.
Has anyone else here experienced similar?

Theres a few more factors than the number of berths , so that might be reason for the gap ?

What van have you got and what were you after?

What model is your current van

Number of berths doesn't relate to size. Ones with a lot of berths are often more basic than two berths.

Does seem a little low considering I got 23,500 for a 07 plate 2 berth. But that was against a new van so assume they make a good profit on the new van.

Couple for sale here ----https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/motorhomes/buyers-guide/motorhomes/details/109p-plus/13959

If you like that van, go haggle.!! :D I did just that, and we got to the point where I was going to walk, all of a sudden they "found" the extra incentive.!!. YOU have to know what you will accept as the "difference".

Just go somewhere else and ask for a better deal

If/ When the 3rd or4th dealer offers you £25000........there may be a clue

If however you get offers >£30k you also have a clue

All you will get on here is OPINIONS, and one offer is worth a thousand opinions
