Dometic never made anything ‘perfectly’ Michael

Can’t imagine their coffee maker would be any better than their:

Ovens
Fridges
Windows
Inverters
Etc

If up to Dometic's usual standard it will be coffee from hell.

While not the same model, I've got their MC052 model in my van.

Can't fault it really, I dare say there are better machines out there, but it does what it says on the tin :)

Thanks RogerThat!
Does it take very long to brew?

Yes... Well, in my opinion :X3:

It takes 20mins to brew a full tank, which in reality only makes 2 good "mug-sized" mugs of coffee. You'd probably get three or four smaller cup-sizes out of it.

But then it's only a 12v machine I guess, it'd probably kill my battery if it worked any faster :)

I found Mocca pot best over a gas ring, with freshly ground coffee.
Anyone interested in an Aeropress could buy mine, with what looks like a lifetime's supply of filters.

Thanks everyone.
I’ve got a stove top one, so I guess I’ll stay with that as I would struggle waiting 20 minuets for my 1st coffee of the day!

Got the waeco model, got fed up missing a coffee before Chunnel crossing, each time we turn up we end up on a earlier crossing with no time to brew up on gas so flick the switch and it’s ready as the train pulls away!!

Yet another thread that has cost me money, just ordered a Bialetti Moka Express espresso coffee maker and a hand coffee grinder to go with it.
You should enjoy the excellent coffee this type of machine makes. Unlike some percolators and cafetières they don’t drown the coffee grounds but force the boiling water quickly up through the coffee into the top section. I find hand grinding a bit hard on my arthritic fingers so often electrically grind a supply of fresh beans before leaving home. I go for the finest grind, the quick process seems to get full flavour without picking up any bitterness or carrying grounds into the coffee, though I suspect results vary depending on your choice of beans. I also usually fill the base with recently boiled water to speed up the procedure.

I am confidant that you will not regret your decision but I am still amazed that buying a cup of coffee at almost any place in the UK, simply cannot compare with coffee bought almost anywhere in France.

Use a pour over one - tried various sorts but found disposing of the grounds a nuisance (took forever to wash down the sink) - now we just throw away the filer into bin. If the coffee is not finished, it will travel happily in sink in the jug.
