Doc goes to Turkiye

Use the frying pan with a lid on.
Low heat.
We have 4 frying pans in our MH! :giggle: 1 small one for doing eggs (prevents the whites spreading too much and fits nicely on our smallest gas ring), a double skillet with both pans used for frying, and a slightly larger Tefal Ingenio pan which is only used for warming stuff or for dry cooking such as mushrooms, it never has any fat or oil in it as even the most miniscule bit of left behind will catch and flavour the contents, also means I don't have to constantly clean the fat/oil out to be able to use it dry. :p

My Aussie niece showed me how they nibble away the chocolate at both ends, then dip one end into your hot cuppa and then you can slurp up your beverage like a messy chocolate straw !
Used to do that as kids with Cadbury chocolate fingers 🤗🤗

One thing about cemeteries is that the residents are usually quiet and well mannered.

Our garden wall backs onto a cemetery, best neighbours we’ve ever had tbh

We call it the Underground Hotel 👍

Our previous house had a cemetery at the back, on our first night in it I was stood in the middle of the garden at 3.00 am as I couldn't sleep, it was lovely and quiet and I enjoyed listening to the owls and was lucky enough to see a couple flying around along with a few bats. Another benefit was flowers all year round! :giggle:

Mr and Mrs alucard I presume ..

What a mission it is getting places these days ...just been looking at Slovenia and seems wildcamping is illegal there too .. so it'll either be one night in a supermarket carpark on route or I'll be crossing it in one day in to Croatia..

Probably spend tomorrow night near austrian/Slovenia border.

We wild camped in Slovenia a few years ago without any problems, didn't even know it was illegal! Similarly we wild-camped in Croatia too (discretely).

I thought wild camping was illegal in Croatia too?

Slovenia has always been like that but we have seen vans parked up near the Italian boarder.

Last time you were in Greece it was illegal but law changed this year.

I only spent 1 night in Slovenia the last time I came through but I was entering from Italy and only a slither of Slovenia before Croatia. I spent at least a week in Croatia with Jackie....all wildspots , looking at Croatia just now there still seems to be plenty of places to park up with no obvious reports of police intervention or fines. But Slovenia it seems every parkup has reports of police moving folk in the middle of the night or fines etc.

So that's where it looks a pain in the arse . But will just have to see. I didn't plan to spend long in Slovenia but I thought I'd maybe spend 2 nights but if its a hassle I'll just skip through I think. If Croatia also proves trouble I'll shoot through that too and just enter serbia earlier. Will give me more shengen time on other side I guess.

Flipping pain in the arse this though.

And no idea what I'd be doing next winter as I ain't going back to Morocco.

And 3 months just ain't no good.

I fear the end is nigh....but anyway will see what happens by spring. No pont letting it get me down at present

I think this will be my rough route ... its toll free , and will just see how it goes . It'll obviously take longer than that quoted time ,and I'll likely stay over in Austria somewhere tomorrow night. I had originally planned on going past Lake bled in Slovenia...but every parking around there is daytime only or €30 per night camper stops ... I won't be held to ransom lol.

Come on Tam what's wrong with paying a few Euro if you need to it's their country abide by their rules.

We like free spots but if it can't be done you pay up and grin & bear it.

Not as easy as it seems though.
Maybe not but a few funsters have done it so could advise, it's probably worth it if it means you don't have to do the long trek to Greece, Turkey etc and just think of all the lovely Spanish sunshine you could soak up!

€30 isn't just a few euro though. I'd rather just skip through it.

Aye but I'm not sure how you go about getting it , and there's a few folk I've spoke to who got it once then had it refused the second time so its not something reliable either.

As I said it's just getting tiring and stressful each year trying to do it and mix it up . Don't like going back to the same place each year so I'd like to be able to do Spain one year Greece the next. But getting to Greece is becoming a right hassle and if I go to Spain there's only Morocco to extend 90 days ... don't like Morocco so what's a guy to do ?

I often feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Because I've the dogs to think of too.

Crossed Slovenia to Croatia and back a month ago - first no tolls - a pain in a big van, too many bends, changes in speed limits (hidden speed cameras). Paid the toll for the way back rather than risk a speding fine. It's expensive for just a day even though I'm under 3500kg ( )

Yeah a lot of these non toll roads are like that ...even France is a pain . Germany much easier . But I can't be arsed with all the vignette nonsense it's just too much aggro.

I had quite a rough nights sleep last night after putting myself on a downer last night so will attempt to change subject as whilst I am kinda concerned about future stuff I can't do anything about it right now so I want to avoid letting it ruin my trip.

Not raining this morning ( yet) but still very windy ..always a joy in a big van , caught a few big side blasts yesterday which knocked me over the road so gotta watch that. Just heading out for a short walk with pups ...hopefully don't get rained on ,then I need more fuel before heading off towards salzburg

The German roads have been great , better than France I have to say , but the limitless motorways encourage some right scary drivers .. I had folk pass me yesterday doing about 150mph ... saw 2 very bad crashes , 1 involving 4 vehicles 2 smaller cars vw polo Renault clio and 2 suv types ....all 4 were right offs ...2 had the whole front ends missing and surprisingly the suvs looked worse than the smaller cars. They do drive like headcases some of them.

And the sliproads are a confusion because folk seem to come down then sit alongside you trying to push over but they dont go faster to go in front or slower to come in behind but instead stay same speed and force their way in ... I don't get it. When you have cars passing you at more than twice your speed it makes me reluctant to move over in a van doing 60mph ..

Right we're off oot

Keep your chin up fella, you keep remembering you cannot change what you cannot change until you can change it!

Enjoy you travel times and deal with stuff next year.

The slip roads on the older Autobhans that were built in the 30's are fun. When you turn off a dead straight quite short slip road with a Sharp right angle bend at end & you find yourself nearly doing an emergency stop to get round the bend.
Built when they were built cars weren't as fast but they didn't have any brakes either.
