Just been to local Sainsbury and noticed diesel has gone from 126.9 to 129.9 in the last couple of days.

A common trend or just local to me.?

Suppose it doesn't matter if it goes to £3 a ltr... There's nowt we can do about it but moan.

If the whole country stopped buying for a fortnight the suppliers and gov may take notice but that is never going to happen... And they know it.

If you need it,you need it. Diesel for your MH is a luxury, be grateful it is not taxed as such.

It is taxed as a luxury albeit indirectly and more than one tax.

Fuel duty then vat.
If I remember correctly fuel is taxed at 60% one way and another.

Nothing else springs to mind you would buy on a regular basis with two taxes.

Diesel for necessity e.g. businesses is taxed at the same rate as old farts enjoying their retirement. Bring back purchase tax.

Luckily the fuel for one's private jets is still tax free.

I reckon it’s the supplier testing price elasticity

How much are people prepared to pay

In Spain at the moment, catching the ferry home from Bilbao on Tuesday. So this is a handy thread - was wondering whether to fill up here, and it sounds as though it could be worthwhile.

We have been paying around E1.22-1.25 a litre currently, although 3 weeks ago found some at E1.14. And two months ago, an astonishing E1.04!

We filled up at Ashford Tesco at £1.279, the fill up before that at the Cora near Cean on Thursday was €1.429.
Petrol was a lot dearer at around €1.46

Also since my fuel gauge can be a bit dodgy, I always write the mileage down on the slip and reset trip. Lucky I take the mileage as the trip had stuck on 182.2 miles ( I usually fill at between 300 & 350)

bill
Yes.
Or. You haven’t learnt that it’s a waste of time worrying about things over which you have no control.

I topped up my scooter today, then filled up a spare 1gall fuel carrier. Cost me 9 quid and it only lasts me a month. Worth it’s weight in gold the saving on fuel and parking alone.
Moral . Let’s all buy scooters, good for street crime as well. Any body want to buy a cheap mobile phone ?

I stopped at the services on the M3 at Fleet and it was 149.9 per litre. I will not tell you what I thought about that.
