I was wondering if there is anyone in Spain at the moment who could tell me how easy it is to find diesel and LPG. We are going over to Santander next week, I just about have enough diesel to get to Plymouth and hardly any LPG. I dont want to waste the diesel I have got driving around looking for fuel and LPG before going, if it will be plentiful when we get off the ferry.

Many thanks

Nick

Use a fuel app, prices are displayed and it will even navigate you there, same for LPG..

Be careful comparing prices, some places are showing them with the discount already applied and others at normal price with the discount still to be deducted. Make sure you know the exact price before filling.

Hi, which app did you use, were going Portsmouth to Bilbao 28th and will need lpg, as running the American rv on petrol will be bloody expensive, about 10 mpg on petrol and on lpg works out equivalent to about 18 mpg, so better on lpg, l have the autogas app and the fuelflash europe app

Sorry but I just don’t understand anyone arriving in a foreign country whilst running on fumes, how much do you hope to save for the stress?
The last LPG I bought in Spain somewhere cost €1.09 a litre but a small price to pay for cooking/heating capabilities. Your going on holiday, enjoy yourself and forget about saving pennies 😂

We have only taken our van to Spain once before and not had to fill it up with LPG there. I have a convertor for the tank, hopefully its blindingly obvious, the pump nozzle goes over the convertor and screws in and off you go ?? Im not sure my Spanish is up to asking for help ( my bad )

Its not something I would normally do, but we have been unable to get diesel anywhere in our part of the world. All stations are out of stock. LPG is also very scarce.

Generally with LPG in Spain, a helpful assistant will help you fill up. They will usually have an adapter to lend as well.
You have to watch the helpful assistants though, I had one trying to fill my water tank with diesel, luckily both fillers were locked and I had the key.

Thats worth knowing, thank you, I did check it on one of the LPG apps and it was showing out of order. They must have had a delivery. Cheers

Check the autogas app.,it's currently showing 99.9 p a litre.
Ok it's a top price but still ok for the convenience of having full tanks.for when you travel..It's better than calor.

LPG availability in the UK is rapidly reducing because of lack of demand. In Spain, however, LPG cylinders are readily available at most garages, as many houses are not on gas mains and use LPG for cooking. An adaptor is needed for the Spanish gas cylinders and this can be bought from eBay, etc. Diesel is cheaper than petrol in Spain and cheaper than in the UK.

If you get stuck while in Spain, I've a full tank of Premium Diesel.....we haven't experienced any shortages whatsoever, this includes Petrol, Diesel or LPG....come and have a trouble free trip....stay within the current ruling and you shouldn't have any problems....

Repsol seem to be the most expensive in Galicia ( Spain) at €1.80 litre cheapest I’ve paid is €1.76 litre in an Agricultural cooperative. I use my Revolut card to keep track of my fuel spend, last spend was 20.4 litres at 1.20 to the pound ( near enough) £30.73. I haven’t had to fill up on LPG yet.
No shortages . Now about to cross into Portugal.

That is illegal.

That is correct.

In all my time here using the last vans bulk tank no one ever assisted me anywhere? many lpg pumps are so far away from the petrol & diesel ones it is a bus ride.

Thank you for this, if the weather is half decent, we are planning to trek cross the north into Galicia , and then down to Porto and south. Our last long trip in the van was last autumn, when we got caught in the fuel shortages here, it will be good to not have to think about it and just refill as necessary.
