As expected Highbridge have just contacted us and our New Rapido Dreamer ordered August 21 for delivery mid April 22 has now been put back to October and could even be later! Fiat are a apparently suffering too many component shortages to fulfill the orders they have. They are contacting everyone affected with orders including Adria and Chausson and probably anything Fiat based.

Feel for you! We are waiting on our Burstner Nexxo, due in March ‘22 and I am dreading getting the same news about it being delayed.

We sold our caravan so it had better arrive in time! 🤞🏻

Have a look at this thread too dash300 re Adria deliveries
Thanks. All converters are going to be dependent on what Fiat is willing/able to deliver them with regard to the spec. specified.
I suppose Fiat will decide who they will supply first. I am guessing an RHD base for convertors is going to be lower down the scale of priorities, who knows. I did expect a delay but not quite that long. So my July bookings are now being cancelled and the Cruise Brochures are now out!(y)

My youngest son decided to sell his Jag and opted to rent/hire a VW Tourareg. That was last August. His original delivery was November, then March this year, Now he is being told September at the earliest. Seems there are not enough chips and other components available.

dash300 have they said anything about the cost if the new van? I have read similar posts (can't supply link sorry) where the supplying dealer has also said that there is an increase of cost to 2022 prices.

Our price with Adria was fixed at purchase with dealer. We ordered pre 22 model prices with agreement we would pay the 22 model new increase. They have gone up around 5k since but our price was fixed

The price is fixed at time of order/deposit paid and I have that on my invoice. Highbridge still have on their website Rapido Dreamer Living Vans such as mine advertised as 'arriving shortly' ho! ho! with substantially lower spec at 10k more than I have on my invoice. If I add my spec. of heavy chassis, auto,160hp plus all the upgrades it works out not far short of 15K more. I am sure they would like me to pull out of the deal and return my deposit as they would sell my vehicle on with a substantially increased profit! I will ping them tomorrow to confirm the invoice price again as a belt and braces confirmation. Looks like we will be keeping the boat a little longer!

Ours is supposed to be delivered any day now to the supplying depot. I am fully expecting news as above.
They told me yesterday they had contacted the manufacturer and waiting for a reply.
Price fixed and same as the one ordered that blew up last year. The new one will have upgraded interior within the old price. Same van has gone up twice since and is now £7/8k more without the upgrade.

Reply to my email from Highbridge that price remains the same as invoiced irrespective of the annual price increase. So it's possible that I will be getting a 2023 van at at a 2021 price! Perhaps a crumb of consolation, now just have to hope the van money residing in Premium Bonds do something!

Ordered our Rapido in October 2021 for March/April. Just found out its going to be October 2022 and even then who knows. Sold our existing van in December albeit for a decent price. Might take the opportunity to go back to Canada to cheer me up

I've done the same. Recorded the agreement and delay and also worried that at some point they could simply say sorry cant fullfill the order. It would be the manufacturers fault but leaving me to have to sue the dealer?

Likewise, just cancelled all our 2022 plans and site bookings and now thumbing the brochures for alternative breaks; we have a summer to fill!(y)

We purchased a cancelled Rapido i1090 Distinction in Oct with the knowledge that if we didn’t take that one it would be 2023 at the very earliest as Rapido had already sold its 2022 builds 😱

You made a good choice. Our order was August and we wanted the highest spec. with the new auto box etc etc, we expected a delay but not of the magnitude we now face. No worries though, just a delay and we are now enjoying re planning our Summer program.

We ordered a MAN TGE bespoke specification back in August 2021 for conversion to our spec. I've just been advised of a build of the base vehicle in week 21 of 2022 and possible delivery very late June 2022. Then of course there is the added conversion time so it will be twelve months from order to completion at best.
I'm not holding my breath for any of these dates to be met!

We feel quite fortunate tbh especially as the motorhome had been ordered with more or less all the boxes ticked 👍

Just had confirmation our van's build will be completed on 18th March for delivery 1 week later.
Halle flippin lujah.
Fingers crossed this one don't blow up, it is French so owt could happen.

Personally I would be looking to cancel if ongoing delays became evident and purchase at a later date.
Surely the dealer is in breach of contract and any deposit should be refunded.
While it isn't the dealers fault 5hey are the one you have a contract with, not the converter or the base vehicle factory

What a blow but not unexpected as the Ducato plant had again a four day shutdown. Considering the 160hp engine is no longer available to order, has Highbridge told you anything about that?

Why?

surely if he cancels now it will be 2024 before he gets one, and thats if he's lucky

Interesting. What is the equivalent now?
140 or 180hp. I hope your choice will be honoured. As you know through our PMs I am looking to order the same van but not through Highbridge although they are closest to me. There may be a glimmer of hope about delivery delays as the new Stellantis van plant in Poland is due to start production on April 4th.

Thanks for that.
Will check up and post what they say.

Well Highbridge have checked the Rapido Dreamer system, and my order has had the chassis details fixed for production and still shows as 4250kg Fiat 160 Auto in Artense metallic and no further changes to specification can be made. I have kept all emails with Highbridge; the wait continues!

It's already going to be at least 14 months from order......bloody houses are built at a faster rate.
Cancel now and buy a few months old 'as new' used one one.

But he doesn’t want to buy an house does he or a used motorhome at inflated prices

The world has a shortage of everything in every industry and we are all having to wait, it’s as simple as that
I think your suggesting is madness tbh, he’s getting a brand new latest spec motorhome for last years prices 😉

Are there plenty of those around?

Recent visit to my nearest dealer didn’t show anything like the numbers of secondhand (of any age) MoHo that they would have usually expected to have in stock. Their parking lot was embarrassingly empty.

and my 2 dealers especially the first one are empty and I mean empty or more or less empty

They own 5 motorhomes which they hire and those are along the roadside fence making it look like they have stock, behind them they have nothing

regardless of what anyone thinks it is certainly not a buyers market out their atm

Quite willing to wait for the spec I have ordered and at fixed pre 2021 price increase figure. I have other interests to fill the gap.
