Was a newbie, now a Middie.
Just read this thread. Les must have been taken ill when we were away. Can only say devastated. Such a nice guy, and a dedicated biker and motorhomer. Greatest condolences from Ali and myself. Will always remember the great time we had in Weymouth this year with Les and Debs. Gutted.:cry::cry::cry::cry:

@davanne and others, please be aware that Debs hasn't been on the forum for over 3 weeks and isn't quite up to it yet. I pass on your good wishes and condolences daily so please don't think she is ignoring you.

not long enough
Had a lovely chat with Debs today, she is holding things together really well all things considered

Amongst other things we talked about cards at times like this and I never know what to put in them

After the call I remembered a verse that meant a lot to me when my Dad died at a similar age to Les, I have probably posted this on the forum before so apologise for repetition, but I have just rung Debs back and given her a summary of the verse, as I told her I wouldn't be able to read it, we both had a little cry over the phone

these are the words

What is dying?

A ship sails and I stand watching

till she fades on the horizon,

and someone at my side

says, "She is gone".

Gone where? Gone from my sight,

that is all; she is just as

large as when I saw her...

the diminished size and total

loss of sight is in me, not in her,

and just at the moment

when someone at my side

says "she is gone", there are others

who are watching her coming,

and other voices take up the glad shout,

"there she comes!" ...and that is dying.

Had a very long chat with Debs yesterday evening (she called me). The ground rules were "don't be nice" so we chatted about just about everything. She is bearing up remarkably well and it was both sad and good at the same time.

Had another long chat with Debs this morning when she phoned. She isn't up to people phoning her yet but thanks you all for your kind thoughts.

We had a few tears and a few giggles .. the latter would not have happened a few days ago. Lovely lady coping with her sadness .. love you Debs .. when you get round to reading this thread know that we are here for you sunshine. Xx

Since 2011 (tugger for 20 before that)
Only met Debs and Les once at Falkirk. Both very friendly, lovely people. They helped to make one of our first meets very enjoyable.
Our thoughts are with Debs at this sad time.
