Dart Charge- Payment Not Taken (1 Viewer)

I prepaid for 2 dartford crossings before we started our 5 week holiday in France. The first one passing through on 26/04 15 was deducted within 24 hours. On our return on 1/06/15 we passed though northbound and ive just checked today and we still 1 crossing left. It appears it has not recorded the last crossing. Should I contact them or have I received a free crossing

What time did you go through? Was it within the charging time or the free time?

I would not contact them as you have done what you needed to and it is now up to them.

Thanks for your reply. We passed through at approx. 3pm on Monday so it was during the charge time.

Out of interest, which method did you use to prepay ?

Most likely a failure of their number plate recognition system.
Have you got a bike rack on the back?

This happened to my son who has an account , he didn't notice that he hadn't been charged on three separate occasions.. . yet they had his details and sent letters demanding payment .. took him a while to get it sorted.. and as you would expect it was blamed on a computer glitch ...

We went through a while back and forgot to pay Just received a bill from them for £2.50 Paid it.

Thanks for your replies. Geordie, you can prepay for crossings on the Dart Charge website or phone. Crossing dates are not required but you have to use them within a year. When I passed through on Monday the barrier operated as normal. I don't have a bike rack and both reg plates were clean and visible.
