Could This Be The End Of Generators.

Electromagnets use electricity to create large magnetic fields which can then be used for all sorts of things, a basic electric motor for one.Linear motors have been used to propel 'floating' trains on rails, I think they may still be in use on some of the Japanese high speed trains.

If electricity can be used to create a magnet and then rotation, or linear motion, is it not possible to reverse the process and use a large permanent magnet and rotation to produce electricity.

I used to love having joy rides on the NEC one when working there, breaks the boredom. Then it vanished, there must be some flaw in the design.

Laithwaite - proper job nutty professor, he was convinced he was on to something with pendulums.

The recent thread on generators, yes that one, almost achieved perpetual motion. If you define perpetual motion as continued activity with no measurable useful input. :)

If you invent a machine using rotation and magnetism to create electricity, you have invented a common or garden generator.
You have just started another bloody genny thread.
Shame on you!
:-)

they called Nicola Tesla a nutter, but thank god he could think outside the box, unlike some on this forum.

Never thought of that, never was was much good with that elektrikry:)

How can anything be perpetual motion if you have to push it to start it?

If it was true perpetual motion it should start on it's own, shouldn't it?

Clever enough to do what scientists have strived for for years...perpetual motion....but not clever enough to design a stable alternator mounting.

Thought at one point it was going to shake itself apart.

Entertaining rubbish.

The easy way to recognise these scams (and they are nothing else) is to wait for the bit where they say 'And we only need an investment of $500,000 to bring this to market'.

Just another brainwave since reinventing the generator, what if..........one large permanent magnet or magnets in series (like a turbine) is used to create rotation in a shaft that is coupled to a generator to create electricity. The initial starting turn of the shaft could be to overcome static resistance.

Could that work? Not perpetual motion as presumably the magnetism of the driving magnet(s) would diminish, just a thought :)

A magnet will not produce rotation in a shaft unless there is an opposing magnetic force existing in the shaft (steady there, some of you).
Once that opposing force comes back around, it will be forced back in the opposite direction unless you have a complicated system of contacts repeatedly altering the magnetic poles.
It all requires an input of energy from somewhere :-)

Ahah. So with a little input of energy, we COULD get a large amount of energy output. Sounds like a plan.

With a little input of energy, we WILL get a smaller amount of energy output.
But only if you put your trust in Physics :-)

Edit: sorry, should have said that a little input will give an even littler output.

It's like fission (i think) generators .. the theory is there but nobody has done it yet..

Dark energy, tap into that and our troubles are over. That's if it exists.

Its no scam, this type of thing was invented years ago and built by an austrailian guy but for the home, its free energy and its been proven it works - governments around the world will never let it get off the ground as they cant tax it, They all harp on about the environment and how we the public should be doing our bit for the good of the planet but truth be known they make no money from it and will never be made public - so if there is a scam anywhere its by the powers that be !

I remember years ago about someone who had made an engine that was able to run on water. They soon stopped that one. How could they tax water. Think about it.

Don't you just LOVE the internet?

Room on it for everyone...

Reading threads like this one sometimes makes me think that maybe, just maybe, I am not the most stupid person in the whole wide world after all... (y)

Was it a steam engine? Thinking about it, they do tax bottled water. 20% VAT ;)

there was a big market for vw beetles using that system .in the states , must have been about 30 yrs ago.
but i believe it started in italy .
there used to be lots of mentions to it in the vw mags back then .

Conspiracy theories, don't you just love em. The amount of people who have discovered free energy is legion, the government warehouses must be stuffed to bursting with them.:LOL:

It is. But something has to move the magnet .............................
