The Jumars have a pass out. After a very strict lockdown in our apartment in the Murcia region, we slowly had a relaxation of the rules and, eventually, permission to travel.

After a few hiccoughs. Failed leisure battery and failed delivery of a new one, amongst a few other niggles, we made our arrangements, and left, yesterday.

A mere 500 km or so got us to a motorhome parking north west of Madrid, and in a village in the back of beyond, village to nowhere, but they've put in an emptying facility and parking for at least 12 motorhomes, with space for more.

We had a very quiet night, but cooold, after the Murcian temperatures. Duvets were pulled on sometime during the night.

This morning we continued our journey north west and have now arrived here to start the holiday proper.

A horrendous journey along the Spanish motorways

and a "pull your stomach in" crossing of the reservoir,

brought us to our overnight, and tomorrow's overnight also. On a lake with canoeing lessons and an airfield, so far we're "Billy no Mates" €6 a night with leccy, it would be sad not to pay.

Tomorrow our bikes are coming out and we're exploring the local area.

During the next few days or do we'll be "doing" the coast 😉

Keep away from Catalonia ... lockdown again in some areas I believe!

Must be desperate to get away 500km in one day.

We were.

Toooo hot in Murcia.

Extensive research found that an area above Santiago was ten to eighteen degrees cooler!!!

Soo 500 (Martin says 600) kilometres was preferable to staying, cooking!

We hope, eventually, to get to the Pyrenees, but we'll be watching the news!

Thanks.

I thought you had just been complaning about it being cold. Can't win with some people. :ROFLMAO:

Nooo, it was cold, but a welcome cold.

Just weren't prepared for it.

Martin had to get up to retrieve the, not thought necessary, duvets.

Going down ...

Note the grey skies!!!

Makes for pleasant temperatures.

It's hard to believe, even after such a short time, that the temperature can change so much in one country.

Blimey, it'll be hot there!!!

Good luck.

I absolutely agree with your sentiment, if we lived in Spain I would be desperate for some cool weather, even after 3 months in September to November I'm usually ready👍. But when you've been 12 months on a sodden cold dump of an island in the Atlantic (run by lunatic leftist snowflakes🙄) you are ready to enjoy some good hot weather even if it's a bit over the top for 3 months...

Get a load of this... Our view from the back garden 😕

Edit: this is West, our sunset 👍

that is LLeida & you cannot "inadvertently" stumble in to it as here lockdown means that .the roads are blockaded & there is no entry to anyone or allowed to leave. It is also well away from the coast

Thanks.
Keep an eye on Huesca, as an area there including Huesca, Jaca & Sabiñánigo , have been moved back from 4 to 3 due to some infected field workers returned from working over the border in France. No travel restrictions though.

Our view here, now, is as grey. But it's preferable to the temperatures we've left (for us at least).

We're also on a small, private, airfield here. One small plane makes a lot of noise, doesn't it,? 😁
We live next to a small airport, don't notice them normally but did a few weeks ago when they started flying again.

I haven't googled but can guess what that is!
Phew ... just googled ... thank goodness it wasn't what I thought it might be!
