Coordinates confusion (1 Viewer)

Using our competition prize Camper stop Europe for the first time in Germany we found that the coordinates in the book (eg n48,83932 e10,71530 will not be accepted in our scooper sat nav which is degrees and minutes. Any ideas appreciated.

There are several different ways of expressing coordinates. I don't think it matters which one you use for Google but it does for satnavs.

The three main ones are:

Degrees-minutes-seconds: N 48° 34' 8.6"

Degrees-decimal minutes: N 48° 34.143'

Decimal degrees: N 48.56905°

There are others but those are the main three you will come across. All the Aires uses the second one. Camper Contact uses decimal degrees.

There are plenty of free apps to allow you covert them. Just search for coordinate converter.

If you look in the settings you should be able to change the coordinate type to what you require.

Thanks for the info @NickNic . We had a problem with co-ordinates in France and reverted to a map,so will try again with this information.
