Considering I have had no communication from my travel insurance company (all clear) I thought this update from comfort was very reassuring no pun intended. (y)

Dear Comfort Insurance Customer

The UK government has announced that the spread of the coronavirus in the UK is ‘likely’. Hopefully the spread of the virus can be contained and incidences can be kept to an absolute minimum.

We are writing to you to assure you that here at Comfort Insurance we have robust contingency plans in place, so that in the unlikely event that coronavirus occurs within our offices, you will be able to enjoy the same service as you have come to expect from us.

Furthermore, we are in regular contact with underwriters and service providers to monitor their service levels throughout the duration of this challenging period.

We will continue to keep you updated as necessary, as the situation evolves.

I’ve not received this email - maybe they’ve only sent it to those who sit in the high risk bracket? ?

Maybe sent to those who have a greater chance of coming out the other side unscathed, hence the reassurance of insurance

I received their email.
I find Comfort are very good to deal with, their staff know what they’re doing.
They are also competitive for my van insurance.

PS It’s almost worth ringing them just to listen to the recorded message...........Essex/Estuary dialect to perfection.

I received it too, they were very good about sending out regular Br.... updates last year, mind you this forum was way ahead of them!

Got my Comfort renewal today.
£268.26. Took off breakdown cover (£65.00) and dropped mileage to 4000. I can buy an add on if needed at a later date for an an admin fee of £20.00.
Green card for Moroc ( 90 days ) based on mileage limit of 6000 miles)) would be £145.98. Policy comes with green card for Europe for next 12 months.
Very happy with this. Like many others I do not know what lies in front of us and this gives me plenty of options. Hopefully Greece this time next year.

My Comfort renewal also showed up with an increase despite no claims on it and the addition of a Growler alarm. Annoyed they told me we would get a further discount this year when the alarm was fitted.
Time to find another outfit, notice also for larger Motorhomes the non recovery in the small print, so make sure you get your breakdown insurance elsewhere.

As we are in virtual lockdown what a waste of time sending that out.just as bad as the one from Sainsbury’s

I don't think you can add breakdown cover only available at start or renewal of policy.
Not so Lenny. Well that's what I was told over the phone today. Not to worry, I have European cover from Nationwide Flexi plus account which covers my car too.

I've just renewed mine with Comfort and have not dropped the mileage and I've kept the breakdown cover ( which has been excellent in the past in Spain and France). I was told reducing the mileage might save around £20 but didnt bother as I am an optimist.

Only going by what I was told but it was a few years ago.

No worries mate. Trust you and yours are OK. Keep safe. I'm hoping to do a few weeks in Germany come September.
We were looking to go up to the German Baltic in June, I doubt if that is an option now. Wondering if Spain will be open again in late September. Will just have to play it by ear. Keep well.

My renewal came Friday, phoned them and got through straight away spoke to a lady who said two staff in office rest working from home. M y call was answered and sorted very quickly. Full marks to the staff at comfort.

Lenny have you considered the Lofoten Islands. June might be a tad early though. Amazing place to visit.

Had my renewal from Comfort a couple of weeks ago, a new van and a claim last year. Premium up about 20% which I thought was ok. Also only requested either a Thatcham alarm or a Tracker, didn’t want to go down the route of a tracker again as it is no benefit to me so just stuck with alarm. Have always found Comfort great to deal with.

Just renewed mine with comfort. Reduced the insured value by a bit to reflect reality and the premium actually reduced so quite happy
