Clive Mott-Gotobed

Welcome @Clive Mott by the look of the welcome posts your knowledge will be appreciated on here
I have one question for now and those that have mentioned them
What is a CSE grade

Camping Javea. Yes .The following day the Mrs tripped exiting the awning and broke her hip. Oranges and twos to Denia hospital. Fitted metalwork. So instead of staying all of January we came home after her 10 day stay. Then pain and xray showed spanish metalwork was comming apart. Admitted to Southampton hospital for a rework and screw tightening. Just graduated to crutches from walking frame. Will try again at the end of this year. Stuff happens!!

Oh dear, not a good start  hope she heals quick these things are easy done, even without a drink. (y) Bob.

Thats a sod Dave. Another job on the list.

Yes And The Audi Is The Biggest Pile Of Poo Ive Ever Worked On, Aluminium Bolts hold Engine And Box together and nearside driveshaft passes through the bellowing in between the flywheel and engine block but you have to strip the nearside suspension to get the driveshaft out because the strut is in the way. 10 hours in just to get the bastard lump out and onto a stand. Looks like around £1500 in parts to repair too.

Good news is we become grandparents in early may.

Hey-up Clive ... welcome to the fun house! About ruddy time!!!

You're now wondering who the hell I am aren't you ....? :D

Well ... I had to use another name as the one I used on the OAL forum was already taken back when this forum started in 2006 however Judgemental (Eddie ... RIP ... bless his cotton sock) had called me a 'minx' just a short while before so I came up with Minx as my ID, however for some reason people thought I was 'male' o_O so I changed it to Minxy though I was still occasionally thought to be a boy so I added Girl on the end ... still doesn't stop the odd person thinking I'm a boy though ... must be my love of power tools! :ROFLMAO:

Oh, nearly forgot ... I'm who you would know as Mel B! :) You know that mad women with her 3 dogs and hubby in tow who used to visit you on the Warners show camping fields for a natter. :X3:

PS: has your new MH got a pongo? :D2

Pongo was part of the spec when was ordered Mel, through the roof variant. Not good to have side vent into an awning.

Yes Dave,
Audi sounds like a nightmare. Landcruiser was similar when loud tick / knock happened. Research suggested a cracked piston crown a known batch problem but I reverted to my first guess of a big end because of the time it took for the oil light to go out on start up. Either way its engine out, but only after the front axle is removed.
Went as scrappage against a Hyundai i10 1248cc. Then it snowed and froze. Good timing!!

Hips and lampposts - the Camping Javea jinx :)

Enjoyed many of your MMM articles over the years, good to have your knowledge on 'Fun!

Good to see you on here Clive.

Clive

Good to find you have got a new forum home.

Obviously like many I remember your articles in MMM before I even bought a MH 9 years ago, and then on MHFacts. I remember what excellent information you imparted on both, so you were missed when you disappeared from Facts. As you will have realised there were a lot of other very knowledgable and helpful people who also left for various reasons.

On the topic of hips and breakages, I am sorry to hear about your wife's break but also of the complications. There has been a spate of such news amongst the members on MHFruitcakes - husband and wife having hip replacements within weeks of each other, then Mother of another member with a hip break a few days ago and a further member breaking tib/fib in a skiing accident. So tell your wife she is not alone in the MH fraternity - although she would probably prefer not to be in the 'club' Wish her All the Best for her recovery.

Mrs DBK was treated at Denia hospital. She subsequently had metalwork fitted in the UK to straighten the bones out but two weeks ago it was taken out. We return to Spain next month but probably won't go to Denia for a fourth opinion. :)
