In a couple of weeks we are taking our 18yo daughter to Valkenburg Christmas market. Stopping at Bruges parken Kanaaleiland aire for the first night, visiting the market there.
Then onto Valkenburg for 3 nights. Hope to see it all in the 2 1/2 days we have there. We have booked into Den Driesch campsite, choosing a pitch rather than the arie there.
Stopping at Bergues aire on the way back, only a short trip, Sunday to Friday but looking forward to it.
Have got chains etc just in case we are lucky with the weather.
Any suggestions, advice from anyone who has done Bruges or Valkenbad would be helpful.

Bruges market is quite small but worth a visit. It does close quite early. Around 20:00 if I remember correctly.
2 1/2 days should be fine for Valkenburg. If you approach the campsite from the town center you need to drive past the site entrance (a u turn left uphill!!!) a couple of miles, round a roundabout and back down. The site entrance is then a gentle right turn up the hill. If you see everything in 1 1/2 days you can easily catch the train to Maastricht which is about 15 mins away and fit another Christmas market into the trip.

The slope into the campsite is quite steep. As said.if you are approaching up the hill the turn into the entrance would be very very difficult,go past turn round, and come back down the hill.Makes an easy turn.

Bruges is great you could also combine with Gravelines on the way. There is plenty to do in Bruges for the day aswell the the Christmas Market this is the Ice Sculptures by the train station. We are also heading to Valkenburg just before Christmas. You can buy a multi ticket online that gets you into the different markets and caves in Valkenburg, there is also a chairlift from the top of the hill just above the campsite that takes you down into town aswell as the footpaths past the castle. It's not very high so you would need to be unlucky to have problems with snow at the campsite but do approach from the roundabout at the top of the hill rather than turning left from the bottom.
