Chevron board?

I don't know if that's the right name for it. I'm after the board we should fix to the rear of the bikes when traveling abroad.
How important is this?
We are going to Italy on Wed and it has just crossed my mind that we should have one in place.
Been to Halfrauds and they didn't know what I was talking about
Can anyone tell me where I can buy one and what is the proper name for it?

Also must have 4 reflectors or the hole bourd must be reflective

Just driving down the A26 from Calais to Troyes and my wife said something is flapping at the back. The next minute my reflective board disappeared down the road and out of sight!
So much for my special reef knots!
So if you see it then you are welcome to it. Trouble is I no longer have one

If you use it in the UK make sure you fit it the correct way round, stripes should point downwards towards the offside lane, most people are numpties and fit them the same as they would abroad.

I'm a numpty. Mine's set up for Europe and I leave it like that. I do more miles there than the UK.

Ours is a plastic corrugated jobbie which I reinforced with 2mm ply glued to the back. No folding this one!

I think your quite right Vlad, he should be deported to the South of Spain right now, well his board will be the right way round anyway.

I was told (three years ago) that I must have one and that disaster would overcome me if I didn't fasten it to my bike on the bike rack...

In a really, really WEAK moment I bought one (€8!)...

I keep it in the "boot".

(But then, I drive in bare feet too...)

If the projection is less than a metre you are not required to have any reflective end marker in the UK. Over two metres you can fit a single triangular end marker as shown on page 7 of this: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa..._marking_COP_for_SO_VR1_STGO_and_CU_loads.pdf Where it says the orientation of the marker is not stated, i.e. which way the stripes should point although you are also supposed to fit lights on the corners. You can also fit square or rectangular markers in pairs, and these are normally shown with the stripes pointing downwards to the corners of the vehicle.
