This week we decide to take a few days down in the Lyme Regis area and get the motorhome ready to go, then off to fill up with diesel and gas. Filling up with lpg I decided to see the tank gauges fill so opened up the gas locker whilst filling. As I held the button I notice some vapour escaping from the filling joints and thought to myself it’d a good idea to nip these up before the next fill....anyway the vapour escaped more and more as filling went on...the second I became concerned and let go of the filling button the gas joint/nut gave way and let go. It was like a steam train venting out the side, great big clouds of gas whooshing out ... suffice to say had a moment ????
Anyway it was literally a second or two and the gas escape stopped but I did get a big fright.
So we now have ruptured fill hoses which will be a big problem.
As we had nearly two full bottles and checking all the hoses we decided to carry on with our trip and contacted our supplying dealer to see if they could take a look as we were sort of in the area. They couldn’t have been more helpful. When we got there that afternoon around 3pm they were quite busy with other vans but straight away dealt with our gas system, checked out our other items and sorted them out as well. Left us reassured and happy with their immediate service.
so probably already been mentioned but just a reminder to inspect these now and again..
