Can anyone help i have just changed the battery on my van ,it is fitted with a Sigma S30 system, now i pressed the large button on the fob and there was a noise that was different to the usual sound when i disable the immobiliser when i tried turning on the ignition there were no lights on the dash at all. when i have previously used the fob to start the engine i would still get the dashboard lights ie battery, oil, and various warning lights even if i allowed the time limit to expire.
I have found a card with an electronic code and a mechanical code on it does anyone know which code will reset the immobiliser, your help wpould be much appreciated.

Have you missed a lead off when reconnecting the battery terminals. Or dare i say forgot to disconnect the earth first then the live, or the other way round on reconnection.
All to easy to take out one of the fuses if your spanner makes contact with the bidywork.

Andy

yes did it earth first then live and reconnected live first then earth, there were no sparks like you would get if touching live terminal to earth, connections all fine.

I'm sure someone will come along with a answers to your question, have you tried disconnecting the battery again and reconnecting to give it a chance to reboot

Charlie

I also found that i had no radio which has a permanent live, and no hazard lights checked fuses all ok I have since tried disconnecting battery and reconnecting but still the same, but i tried the connectors at the rear of the battery and there are fuses near the bulkhead which i took out and refitted all of a sudden radio worked and i had hazards, tried starting engine and yipee it started i am going to clean the contacts on fuse holders so should clear problem.
All this from changing the battery, must have disturbed the connections although they are not that close to battery connections.
Thanks for the advice.

I have same prob no dash lights indicators flash but won't even start no click nothing like it's dead took battery off to charge last month same thing but then just started went away happened again then started now nothing gutted was going away today

I know this sounds silly and not trying to tell you how to suck eggs.
But is the battery charged?(y)(y)(y)

I have read that to avoid losing codes and settings you should piggy back a spare battery to the terminals so that the system stays live throughout the battery change. Obviously need to be very careful with spanner and terminals during a live swap.

I am about to change my battery aswell, now, where did I put that spare battery I had hanging about ....

Unfortunately no feed-back from @chasthedagger?
Have you tried the Search Box top right of page?

That could be the leisure battery, you are not going to ask it to start the engine, just keep the system live.

how do I do that ? do I just make sure its charged up prior to change over and it will do everything for me?

I would use jump leads but if you are not sure what I am talking about, or not confident, I suggest you take it to a garage.

I understand what youre saying and I know how to attach jump leads, thanks

I was just hoping it would be a simpler task ...

If doing a 'live' battery swap put a rubber glove etc over the Pos terminal when you remove it before doing anything else.
All to easy for it to flap about and touch a earth point.

Checked battery terminals theirs about 5 on top of battery one re tightened all terminals and hay ho motorhome started time to breath again thanks for all help

would this be on a 2006ish Fiat ?
If it is, go over all the myriad of connections on the +ve terminal board on the battery.. and double check the actual terminal is clean and tight
