Get a cat

Thats a first for me, never seen that before.
A piece of Kingspan / Celotex cut to shape for insulation, then aluminium plate sikoflexed on.
It`s going to be visible though, a more discreet solution would need a bit of figuring out

Like Jim I was thinking of a hatch door, they come as a frame as you normally use the wall section you have cut our as the infill. Should be easy enough to fit a panel in it sprayed to match the van.

These come in white, cream & grey.

No, no, no. Was it not Celotex produced product used in Grenfell?:imoutahere:

You could fill the hole and then put a white plastic grille / vent over it so that it looks like a vent and not a patch,
Just an idea

Celotex is a trade name for ridgid foam insulation all motorhomes are full of it of various makes no fire risk .

It was indeed and we are still installing in many houses to meet Building Control requirements. It goes in the floor. in the ceilings if vaulted and must have a 50 mm air gap above it. Which was the main cause of the fire spread.
Also used in stud walls.
Go figure?

Thanks for the reply’s folks.

To be clear, I am not getting a cat, but glad it raised a giggle.

I hadn’t considered a door, it enters to a void under seating so could be used as a stash space or useful access between awning space and interior.

I was planning to use ally plate and disguise with a fake vent to the exterior, but the door option wins.

Can't see the size very well in the photo. Could the hole be used for an external gas point for a barbecue, or an external shower point for a dog/muddy boots/muddy levelling ramps?
Or a small hatch labelled 'Aviation fuel only'?
