I'm new to this
Avoid things falling from overhead lockers. Does anyone know if they exist or have any suggestions to reduce the times I get “clonked on the head” by falling items.

I have a Swift Moho but assume all UK made lockers are all the same size…. Are they?

thanks people

I pack small items into plastic containers (food items mainly) so no flying salt etc when the cupboard is open! For larger items I use the pressure bars bought at a MH show - similar to the ones used for net curtains but stronger. Clothing items are stored in travel packs before putting into cupboards so again no errant socks making an escape for freedom 🥴

That’s a great tip thanks. If I can’t find a simple /quick netting type solution I’ll do that too. Thanks a million

We to use spring bars to retain smaller object in cupboards, small trays for socks, knickers and the likes, and plastic boxes for shirts, tops, and trousers.
We use the bigger boxes and trays as you can load them up in the house and then just take the boxes out to our MH and the reverse when we get home.
Make loading and unloading the MH a doddle.

And no, not all cupboards and overhead lockers are the same size, they can be even different sizes in the MH.

I think I’ve seen on a previous thread someone used old pairs of tights stretched across the inside of cupboards 😊
Er… thanks. As an older single male adventurer I’m a bit short of old pairs of tights but I will browse the lingerie section with this in mind - assuming I can avoid arrest.

Wow! That’s amazing, you’re so organised I feel like my lockers are like an adolescent’s bedroom!

This stuff is also good for organisation, I have it in one overhead locker for glasses and mugs etc, and in a basket in the very large floor drawer for open jars of foodstuffs, oil etc

To keep things up in the 'over cab' area of our motorhome we have an item like: Cargo Net

There are several sizes available.
But for smaller lockers you've had some top tips already ;)

I am a bit surprised by the problems listed on this thread as I have just consulted with the Committee Chairwoman and we cannot remember any item falling out of a locker.

All our lockers do have lips on both lower and upper shelves. Could that be the answer as to why we have no problem?

In 2009 with our first moho, a Bessacar, we invested in plastic baskets from B&M. Still use em now. The rear overhead cupboard we first used for books caused us to buy a pair of Kindles! - and covers for them - take up far less room than paperbacks and don't suddenly leap out and smack us in the face either.

Just make sure the cupboard above the glass lid of the hob has retainers and you open carefully. That’s the one cupboard that gives me anxiety 😂

Yes, that’s the one that I have the glasses and mugs secured in!
I would never dare keep cans of food in an upper locker, I am far too clumsy now with feeling in my fingers reduced by Dupytrens. It’s not so much a case of them falling out, but of me just dropping them.

We use loose cushions to pack out the cupboards, stops rattles and items sliding around then once on site open the cupboard carefully, remove cushion, plump up and use for their intended purpose.

I try to pack stuff so it won’t have the opportunity to jump me when opening cupboards and we use the small plastic baskets for clothing and in the kitchen for packets and small items.
I also open certain kitchen cupboards with one hand ready to catch anything, just in case!
I did wonder about a netting or a rod across the front but thought it would be too annoying specially when moving regularly!
