as a newbie is it worthwhile joining the above club what i can see u seem to get good discount off your pitch fees

There are two 'clubs'. The Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) and the Caravan and Camping Club (CCC).
Which one do you mean? I've only belonged to the CAMC. I've rarely stayed on their sites but from many similar posts on here it seems there's little difference between the two clubs.

Both Clubs have regular rallies/meets organised by local Centres/District Associations. Like minded people getting together for a weekend or more at a very reasonable price. Main differences between the 2 is that CAMC do not allow tents and in run more as a business.

Not strictly true... quite a few CAMC do allow tent.... Edinburgh being one..👍👍

Edit... according to their website over 70 CAMC sites have tent pitches.

Hi Dougall - my opinion obviously, and I won’t mention wardens, wooden pegs or habitation doors in my response 😉
the CCC in my experience is the more casual of the two clubs, and the rallies often don’t need booking.
Both clubs have club sites to which the type of discount that you refer applies. It comes down to personal opinion of value as to what you are willing to pay for a pitch. IMO some of the CAMC sites in particular are overpriced even after the “discount”. However some of my favourite sites are CAMC club sites and I would have happily paid more.
The CAMC CLs again IMO are usually better suited to MH than the CCC CSs - that might be a generalist comment since I have not been to hundreds but a few of the CS that I have stayed on have required the use of crampons to get into bed such was the slope.
If I had to choose one of the two it would be CCC because the rallies and THS don’t usually need booking, and we have always been made to feel welcome.

We are members of both clubs but rarely use the main sites. We like using the CL and CS sites. Plus get value of green flag breakdown cover and motorhome insurance.

In my limited experience of only the CAMC their sites and facilities do seem be of a consistently high standard but like so many sites the pitch fees do seem to be rising to a point where non-club sites can be very competitive.

Have been a member of both, never both at the same time for 20yrs plus. Ccc I liked for the caravan and tenting when we did that, camc I preferred as the facilities for motorhomes seemed better to me. That said I do not use either of the club sites anymore and only use the cl sites. Can not comment on rallies as I keep away from that side of motorhoming. My advise is try one this yr and the other next by yr 3 you might just be using p4n. Who knows, good luck.

Had some real bargains this year at their temporary sites.

CAMC are well run and organised, some do not like the rules they have in place such as lining your MoHo up with the peg

Overall people do like them they are tidy have rules so that it’s not like the Wild West all I can say is go to one you don’t have to be a member it will cost you a little bit more and if you like it join the club

We were at the CAMC site in Bristol last week - the chap who booked into reception in front of us was a non member & it was costing him an extra £13.50 per night. Yes it seems like a good discount but as members we were already paying £31.50/nt and that was November which is low season! Prices have gone up an awful lot this year.
We're members of both clubs, they are different, both do the smaller 5 van sites (CL/CS). I don't think you can beat the value of the temporary holiday sites that the CCC run.

I think if you booked into either of the clubs 'club' sites for a week you'd cover your membership fees.

We are in the Camping and caravan club (ccc) for their CS sites and temporary holiday sites which can be good value.

CAMC generally let you choose your own pitch whereas C&CC allocate one for you.

Useful if you have a dog who might need shade/short walk to the dog walk/space away from other dogs. Same could apply to children 😉

What sort of prices we talking?
CACC, temporarily sites. Paid £7.50 per night for a temp site right on the beach at Scougall farm near North Berwick. No ehu but water and waste available. Paid £7.50 at Kendal. £14.50 at a site near Newquay with ehu and a swimming pool onsite.
