I dont see why not? If trained. An old neighbour of mine had a dog that followed him everywhere and took nothing to do with his wife, then it started following her everywhere and was always under her feet. She fell over it one day and had to go to hospital with a sore hip.Although she felt in good health with no obvious problems, they found her full of cancer. The dog followed her everywhere not leaving her side and they both died 6 weeks later on the same day.Very sad ,but the dog knew she was ill before she did.

Yes, dogs can identify certain cancers, regularly used to spot bed bugs on planes and of course drugs, explosives and anything else they are trained to identify by smell.

Seeing how our Cocker goes absolutely nuts at the whiff of a pheasant and can find any kind of poo, can believe dogs can be trained to identify many things us humans have (thankfully) no idea about.

You know nothing till you own a dog, can be your best friend or your biggest embarrassment, sometimes simultaneously.

Our muttly always warned us when our son was starting to have seizure. He has never been trained and to be honest he is a bit thick in all other respects. There must have been something he sensed.

When I was kid my Dad had two pekingenese dogs, on a Wednesday he would bring home 4 lambs hearts, they watched him put the hearts in a roasting tin the would sit side by side watching the oven while they roasted. Must have smelt the blood or something I'm sure they did not know it was Wednesday
