Campsite or Aire for Bordeaux ? (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know of a good campsite or an Aire either in, close to or with good transport links into
Bordeaux. We are thinking of going there in Sept, so this is a bit of forward planning.

Camping Le Village du Lac is a lovely site (in ACSI book) and bus goes from the site to Bordeaux, 25 mins or so to the centre, buy tickets at Reception

Twin lakes is near there.

Site of JAG's Autumn meeting. Peaceful and friendly.

If you've not been into Bordeaux before, the team system is excellent and cheap. However, most of the tram stations have multi storey car parks so unsuitable for a motorhome. To tackle pollution and the crowded streets, taking a vehicle into the city is discouraged.
I don't know personally of any Aires/sites on the outskirts but a bus service, or access to a tram station is essential.

There is a municipal site in the middle of Bourg, a town a few miles away which I can heartily recommend. Next to the citadel walls and the river, a stroll into town and cheap.
