Camper Contact changed again

I believe you can buy single months as required or twelve months at a time
We did that last year when we wanted more info.
Use to pay for it for the year then they doubled the price.

I was looking at it and it auto renews the payment if you don’t cancel which I’m not sure how you actually do if you’ve paid on Applepay or googlepay for a year. I’m sure it’s easy but it’s the remembering without setting up bookmarks on my phone calendar etc. Search4sites isn’t autorenew.

I’m dithering, we’re off on an organised tour to Italy on Tuesday but you get a 60 day flexi ticket so are planning on staying on at the end of the 5 weeks and thought it would be handy. We end up on the coast near Venice so thought we might stay a few days there and then slowly make our way home, might even go across to the South of France and then up through France. It will be October by then.

As Lenny HB recommended Campercontact I was going to get that one, I have the free version, but now I’m not sure. I do have my CCP card as well for France if we go that way, too expensive for you Lenny!

For Android phones all your subscriptions are in the play store. They've made it a lot easier to manage them now.

And no need to remember to cancel. Just sign up for a month then cancel straight away. It will automatically stop after your first month.

I paid for a month subscription back in June/July, to coincide with a trip to France. I think from memory it cost about £1.67.

The intention was to only have the single payment and of course I forgot about it. And a month later - horror of horrors - I had a message to say another £1.67 had been collected from my account. So I was straight on the case, and as I recall it was fairly easy to cancel - which of course was going to be at the end of the unwanted extra month, which happens to expire in the next couple of days.

Yesterday I received a note from CamperContact confirming my subscription is about to expire and would I like to renew - which is fairly reassuring.

With hindsight, I reckon the thing to do is to sign up for a month when you need it, and then cancel it the following day or sometime very soon so you don't - like me - forget! The subscription will then just run to the end of the month. (y)

I’ve learnt something today, I have an iphone and I’ve just learnt how to cancel subscriptions so I think that’s what I will do. When we’re nearing the end of our tour I will just pay for a month and then cancel a few days later so that I don’t forget! Thankyou, I thought if there’s an easy way on android there must be on Apple.

Park4night is the only app you need

No idea how folk find it hard to use. I gave up on the others as they were complicated. And I only use the free option

I was using it just a while back and when I clicked on some places for more info it showed a message saying it was only available to subscribers, so I joined. It is only 10 quid , or is it Euro?

I agree it is not hard to use. It is my first and usually only choice. We found some great places in SE Poland on our recent trip - all on P4N.

I have that already but I find it less user friendly than Campercontact. Thanks though.
We have only ever had Camper Contact free version but always find it short on information and never any feedback or recommendation.
When you buy Park4Night (10€) you can filter out what you don't want and filter in what you do, including 2-3-4* site reviews. Water / services/ remote or city locations.
It's all we use now.

Yeah I got that when I switched to my new phone but once I logged in to my username the subscribers only options came back. I've never paid for the app though. Don't pay for any of them

This is true, as long as you join with a user name and password and login you get all you need , being a member doesn't mean you have to pay , you just get adverts.
And as to filtering if you don't pay you get all the sites, and can do your own filtering, filtering some out means you might miss a cracker just because you chose not to look at it for some other reason.

I have found that folks who criticise p4n and Google maps, are just not useing them to their full potential, they come on and say that the apps don't do such and such, but you can see they are not useing them right, but you just don't like to put them right.

Thanks both. That explains it. I had not bothered to login, because I was too lazy to find my details.

This word 'subscriber' used by many websites confuses me because I associate it with paying, not just being a 'free registered member'.

Anyway P4N are welcome to my €10 as it has done me well over the years.

there was no need for the last sentence

Wash your mouth out.

Just because you have exiled yourself from the FLT club.
No chance! I still consider myself a founder member and still have many, many FLT techniques up my sleve. I.e. parking up in your drive and using your electricity when your away etc., etc., you have no idea, trust me.

Well I'm computer savy technical confident not stupid and I find it bloody useless, Camper Contact is far superior even since the major upgrade almost ruined it.
