Hi cam-belts need changing every 5 yrs or so regardless of mileage (60,000 ish )
I would change it asap then you know it is OK for another 4 / 5 yrs--- You can just do the belt but the full kit is not much more and IMO is worth doing for peace of mind.

as others have said, if theres no history of a belt change then its advisable to change it.
its also false economy to change the belt only.....the pulleys will also be worn and could collapse at any time. the pulley bearings are pre lubed and sealed so if any seal starts to leak eventually the bearing will run dry and either seize or collapse.
Geo posted recently one of his customers recently parted with £1300 for repairs after a belt snapped. a belt and pulley change may only be 25% of that cost.:thumb:
Do not rely on mileage I did and it cost me , my cam belt snapped at 35000 miles and 5 yrs old. I thought it was OK , low mileage i thought, big mistake . Caused a massive amount of damage in the end i had to replace the engine at a cost of nearly £3000 . BE WARNED don`t leave things to chance .
