Today whilst I was filling up our motorhome at a Total station to the SW of Calais (on the A16 near Beuvrequen) someone entered our motorhome through the side door. My wife was completely shocked and shouted at the guy who promptly ran off. An English couple flagged us down as we left and said that a group of men had been hiding near the service station in wait of passing motorhomes and lorries. Apparently they had looked under the rear of our motorhome garage (presumably looking for something to hang onto) before trying to get iI the side door.

Please take care around this area - we’ll certainly be ensuring everything is locked up as there are some very desperate people about!

We never even stop in Calais, especially not to fill up. What's the price per litre in France now?

Paid €1.76 at a supermarket filling station on Tuesday.
I paid 1.76 on Tuesday as well. I would imagine on the A16 services it would be a bit more

We spent 6 months going around Europe in 2019. A Carrefour near Calais was the only place we had any issues. We'd been back in the van (our previous PVC) for a few minutes, planning our route. My wife locked the doors out of habit, which I'd normally think was a bit paranoid. Then we heard someone giving the rear handle a test. A couple of guys were systematically going round the car park and checking doors on vehicles and peering in the windows where they could.

I was thinking how comfortable our mh garage would be for migrants. Theres a light in there, plenty of things that could be moved around to sit on and even a coldbox of beer, even some 12v sockets they could use to charge their phones.
Must check it before going on the tunnel.

The fuel station has been closed to truckers at night for at least four years now. There are large yellow warning signs with this information. Always pays to check why such information is there. https://www.google.com/maps/@50.791...4!1saS_BTYXdD8VfhxEP5mFaog!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

Thanks « Kups ». Yes, that‘s the service station - the guys were hiding in amongst the bushes and trees alongside the entry road. Scary. We didn’t link the sign as a warning against migrants - we certainly won‘t stop next time we see one of these signs.

Our garage would be too, but hopefully our Polish number plates might deter them ;) ;)

Can I book a crossing for September?

Thank for for posting this . I can’t stop laughing 😂

I am not preaching my useual gravelines stuff, but why is it that you never see a sign of any immigrants there as it's a lot closer to Calais than these other places that crop up and we have honestly never seen one.
And never seen anyone else say they have seen any there.

We recently came back from Caen to Pompey..... on arrival we were duly questioned and asked to be searched which is always comforting, however, on completion the lady asked if we had bikes on the back....... yes was the reply..... are they covered ???? No...... O.K. this morning we had a M/ home with bikes on the back that were covered, on checking, there was one sat on the bike under the cover !!!!!!.... never miss a trick..... just be careful !!!!!

May be wrong here and missing something obivous, but if they climb aboard a vehicle heading towards the port, they've got a reasonable chance that it's heading to the UK.
Climbing aboard a motorhome at Gravelines, it could be heading to the UK, or they may find themselves en-route to Spain.

I thought the lady's next line was going to be 'Well you haven't got them now'

We filled up at Neufchâtel-en-Bray on Tuesday at a super u 1.755€ and then a top up at Carrefour on Wednesday at Oye Plage at 1.799€
And lpg at E. Leclerc Outreau for 0.749€

We're not parking there again, last September we had 1 migrant under the scooter cover at citë europe, the French police saw him on cctv and came and took him away.. Then another attempt at the Auchan supermarket (felt the suspension drop at the back) told him to bugger off, then another one hassling me filling up kept saying "London" to me as if it's the only word he knew... Then he jumped on the scooter as we pulled off from Auchen filling station. Unbelievable.

Stop anywhere in Calais at your peril 😳
Was a year last September now.

Unfou t forget to print off a few spare API forms to hand out to any immigrants you come across around Calais.

Unfortunately we've only just enough A4 paper for our printer 😥
