Got the cadac gas bbq out today for an al fresco meal and the control knob won’t turn. It’ll push in but that’s all. Anyone know where I might get a spare tap from ?
Or am I looking at a new one altogether ?

Thanks in advance

Bit of a soaking wd40 or similar

Tried that , a good soaking but it still won’t turn

Try turning the other way :giggle:

Keep trying the WD40, lay on its side so the WD40 can soak down onto the thread.

There is one on ebay at the moment

They are cheap enough from cadac themselves. Google search cadac spares.

follow links via 'service' and you will find lots of spares inc new gas valves. price depends on model of cadac

I’ve tried the cadac website and mine is so old they don’t do spares for it !
Also looked though the whole website at any/all valves and they are all different orientation etc so it’s not looking good. What bbq’s do any of you fine people use ?

we have 2 x safari chefs 1
1 x safari chef 2
2 x carri chefs

we have them at home, in the motorhome and at our static caravan in france

some of them were cobbled together from parts of defective cadacs i bought cheap on ebay, they are not all pretty but work properly. the only one we bought brand new was the safari chef 2. which we had to have a new gas valve assembly - luckily it was within the two year guarantee from cadac themselves and after a bit of 'emailing' they sent a new replacement part, without accepting responsibility that it was their fault of course. a small grub screw and spring had fallen, they said prob by vibration in the motorhome as it was being transported as their quality control would have ensured it was tightened correctly,

when i pointed out to them that they sell the cadacs based on being able to transport them around in a motorhome of caravan, they decided to replace the valve free of charge .......

we find the cadac a really versatile bit of kit and have the two sizes for when we do a 'meal' for more then just the two of us.

if they had an additional 'level' for bbqing they would be perfect, but only having the one level also means that you dont cook everything in one go, so the bbq lasts a lot longer and actually adds to the experience. i find that when going to other peoples bbq's where all the (cooked) food is ready at the same time isnt as good as when the bbq is cooked over a longer period, with food coming out at different times which makes it much more a of a longer sociable event.

using the pizza stone also adds to a range of different food at the bbq aswell !

Here you go.
Used them a few times very good to deal with.

Had the same problem last year, parcelled it off to Cadac in Lancashire, replaced the part, for a couple of quid, free of charge of labour and postage, even though it was over 2 years old.
