Over the last week I've noticed that the heating system is making very loud bubbling noises . The pump doesn't have to be working for the sound to happen it makes the bubbling noise for a good length of time.
Could it be air in the system ?
Advice appreciated.

Is the noise coming from the expansion bottle/tank ? They do bubble.

Only noise I hear from my alde (other than the annoying start up cos it’s under my bed) is the expansion and contraction cracking of the metal fins and it’s not that bad tbh, don’t hear any bubbling. Only thing I can think of is there’s air in the system.

Sound like air in it then if it's coming from the seating area there will be radiators behind the seats.

It appears if I turn down the temperature the bubbling stops. Turn the heating up bubbling starts until temp is reached.

I will see if I can get an alde mobile engineer out.

Is the fluid in the system ok? I had a problem a couple of years ago that seemed like a surging and bubbling noise when the gas was fired up, but a fluid change fixed it.

Much like a household radiator system it ha bleed points. Mine has two and they are behind the seats and hidden behind a wooden panel.

Mine made a lot of noise when we first got it and I had to bleed and fill it with Glycol mix, not bad for a brand new van.

You just need to find out where your bleed points are, my dealer advised me, what Moho have you got?

Got to be worth a try.

So it’s just when the pump is running which you would expect, I’m in the bleed the system camp, then you might need to top up the header tank.

Low level in the header tank causes ‘bubbling’ sounds.
You might just need to top up the fluid.

Swift bolero here.
Was it hard to find them behind the panel?

If your van is more than a few years old, the fluid might need replacing, and if it needs topping up there might be a leak. I understand the new fluid is better and lasts longer than the old stuff.

There is an Alde depot in Wellingborough (see https://www.alde.co.uk/contactus.php); they're very helpful so it could be worth your while to visit.

Also worth checking the pump setting, it is not unusual for the installer to leave the pump set on high (number 5, I think from memory) after bleeding the system. (y)

Mine made bubbling noises until I turned the pump down to the recommended setting.
