Just paid for another britstops.
We personally like the britstops concept,however I wish it was in a app form as well.

Just got me thinking I might update our 2014 book, but it's quite expensive for occasional use.. Then I looked on their website, £31.40 with postage.

Great idea but not worth it for us.

Quite a few have EHU. The host will advertise this in the book. You are only supposed to stay for just one night, but I have been asked loads of time.."Just for tonight" indicating the host isn't bothered at all. We stayed in a pub last week and the Landlady was telling us that they had a big RV in for one night that stayed all week!!

if you go to france much, france passion is a far better expense in my view, we have it every other year, the new ones just come but we stayed on a few last year with a year old book , very rare they check and a vast selection of different places.

Hi All
I used britstops for two years and although I found it useful a couple of times, there were other times when there were no Britstops on route,
when this occurred I used google to find pubs where I was heading and phoned them asked to speak to the Manager and said

“we are on route to ? and will be near your Business in an hour, if we patronise your establishment tonight would it be ok for us to stop overnight in your car park”
or words to that effect, I use this all the time now, I have never had a Manager refuse me stopping in his car park, they might tell you to park in a certain area of the park but that is all.
Another thing as I have a rather long vehicle especially when towing my motorbike checking on google earth before phoning let’s me know if I am going to be able to get into his establishment without too much bother.
I agree with Mr Porky if there was an app it would be better as I found updating the book every month with additional pubs etc was a bit of a pain.

I think @Paul and Kate were talking about parking up out of the way when the pub may well be full. We are 7.4mtrs long and 2.4mtrs wide as well and when we phone ahead we often ask if we will fit in. The book says whether they accept under or over 30ft and some state PVC only, but we have been caught out by the "We accept 5 x >30ft" only to find the carpark is the size of a postage stamp, so we now google maps the pub to see the CP first. Since then, not really had any snags.
