Sadly we had to leave you all this morning as our Benji was very poorly, lethargic, not eating, in pain somewhere and his right eye turning white. We have not been able to leave him all the time we have been on the rally.
Our local vet in Clay Cross saw him this afternoon, and so glad he did. He had a temperature of 41.2C, very high apparently, his right eye turning white due to pressure on the facial nerve and an abscess on his back tooth. He gave him antibiotics for two weeks intravenously and Meloxicam to reduce inflammation intravenously. He told us to keep him quiet for two days and near a fan to reduce temperature. We certainly made the right decision to bring him home.
Thank you for all your concerns for him, he is our life, as dog owners will know. A special Thank You to Steve & Denise, Terry & Lisa for the comfort this morning, and Steve catching up with us to get our ramps to us, which we had left behind.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and....see you at Drax, for breakfasts to begin the days. Graham, Jean & Benji.
