Hi the thought of porridge every day for two months whilst wild camping Europe is boring. We don't have a grill. What do you have for breakfast?

Baguette with French cherry jam or honey, croissant, orange juice and coffee.
Would never make porridge in the Motor home too much hassle cleaning the saucepan.

I've never had a grill in 15 years in our Hymer and I can't think of anything I've wanted to cook and not been able. If you want toasties just butter your bread put filling in unbuttered side get your frying pan warm turn with spatula great toasties.
If you have not got gas rings get a little calor gas burner with one plate about £12. no end what you can do.

A popular breakfast in Germany is rolls and jam/marmalade or cold sliced meats/cheese. Fluffy soft white rolls, or crunchy brown rolls with seeds baked on top.

Or you could try the incomparable Munich Breakfast: Fresh pretzel, a pair of wiesswurst sausages heated in hot but not boiling water, and a big dollop of Handelmeier sweet mustard. And wiessbier (wheat beer), alcohol-free if you're driving or working, of course.

Soak the porridge oats overnight in Greek natural yoghurt. At breakfast chop an apple and banana and add to the mix and stir well.
This from a man who for years enjoyed his great British fry up.
PS. Helped with my 3 stone weight loss.

Poached haddock yesterday. I've got a couple of nice salmon steaks for today, but it's a bit late to call it breakfast.

Must confess for me if it’s not to cold cadac out and full English if we are out for the day cycling or walking followed by tea or coffee.
Hopefully if I ever get to France it might change?

Still dropping clangers and making it up as I go along
what ever I fancy but if parked near other British vans the smell of bacon is the killer especially if I'm on a muesli day. Went to lidli's today hit their bakery

I do enjoy a full (very) English but usually its a bowl of meusli or bran flakes.
Though more often a New York 'Red onion' or 'cinnamon and raisin' begal, split and toasted, with a slice of Craft rubber cheese.

I can't stand porridge, have made toast by dry frying in a non stick pan. scrambled eggs are good and quick too. I have a grill in the van but don't have one at home except in the microwave, but I do have a toaster. omelette is eady to make.
If OP wants suggestions for a grill or substitute for the van ridge monkey is good.

Five years plus three tugging
Our Italian Breakfast - Cheese & Shallot Omelette, with Prosciutto Crudo

Chop a couple of shallots, fry in butter in frying pan.
Whisk up a couple of eggs (we use a USB powered coffee frother - weird, since neither of us drink frothy coffee!!)
Grate some Asiago or similar cheese.
Pour in eggs and sprinkle with cheese.
Shake in some chives, couple of grinds of salt and black pepper.
Roll up some slices of cured ham (San Daniele, De Bosses or Parma)
Cook until top is firm. Serve with ham on the side

Takes ten minutes. Have it with crusty bread and coffee
