Hi everyone and I think this thread has been on here before.

Can anyone adivise me about good quality, cheap breakdown & recovery insurance for mainland Europe?

I normally use Red Pennant from the CC but want a chance to show around.

Going to France and the Benelux countries for 2 weeks in April.

Breakdown cover - cheap European & UK car breakdown insurance

Company is Europ Assist and costs £59 which includes 21 days of breakdown recovery in any EU country.....and that also includes any Hotel charges and taxis etc if vehicle is more than a days work.

I've used this company the past couple of years now and cannot fault them. The first year alone i got back more than my £59 in Hotel and taxi charges!

I have taken breakdown cover out with ADAC. They cover the person not the vehicle so I am covered for my car as well. I am covered in England and throughout europe. Think the price is 79 euros. They are a german company but I have heard very good reports about them.

I included my cover on my van insurance with caravan guard, uk and abroard only cheap, hope this helps. peter :thumb:

Thought I'd let you know that I have eventually got European Breakdown cover from LIFESURE Group, £65 for an annual policy, can go to europe for 31 days in any 1 trip and up to 90 days in any year. Covers vehicles up to 8m long, 3.5m high and 4250Kg in weight.

This type of policy appears to be suitable for working people who are going on their holidays for 2 or 3 seperate trips.

This is a lot cheaper than taking out Red Pennant insurance with CC. (£105 last year for 1 x 21 day trip)
