hi guys
can any one suggest a suitable breakdown cover company for Ethel my Hymer B574 3.7 ton gross
Regards Trev

I have RAC Arrival which covers any vehicle I am travelling in.
Same for us too, through the Camping and Caravanning Club. (y)

Autoaid as recommended by Martin Lewis the money saving expert for £59 per annum but not European cover

I think there is a limit on weight regarding the any vehicle cover - might be 3.5 ton
Not according to their website?

Been with LV/Britannia for years.
The only caution is they don't actually do roadside repairs, their default is to get you towed to somewhere that will (at a cost). For that reason I am considering looking elsewhere but wonder if the others operate similarly?

We are with Nationwide too, yes we pay £13 PM but this also includes holiday insurance and breakdown for all vehicles in household plus covers all our phones.

We used to have the same account but dropped it as I have doubts the travel cover would be any use while motorhoming. I think they only cover prebooked holliday arrangements which we rarely have.

That’s the travel insurance isn’t it?
the Breakdown cover doesn’t have those restrictions on
my calculations include the travel and breakdown and it’s always seemed extremely good value
also ofcourse includes the phone
the age restrictions fir the travel insurance have been increased- now additional payments after 70 which we both reach this year. But I think it’s only one additional payment for the pair of us

I may be wrong but I think if you use the travel insurance in the UK you must stay at a commercially licensed place for min 2 nights, I don't think there is anything to say they won't cover you abroad if not booked into somewhere. I stand to be corrected though.

Thanks Gerry, I shall have another look at the T&C for that account.

Just looked at the policy for trips outside the UK it just says trips must start and end at your home.

I was thinking of getting breakdown cover but a bit unsure as we have a new van with the fiat camper assist ,question is is it better to have double the cover or just stick with the fiat one for now ,decisions decisions.

I don't see the point of paying for something you don't need. If you breakdown you will be wondering which one to call & it's pot luck who turns up anyway.
