Why do so many campers use disposable Barbies straight on the grass..???

Taking the dog for a walk round a large campers field at Norden Farm campsite...

Judy and I noticed a few burnt/scorched grass patches from these barbies.... Takes years for the grass to grow again..

There was a pile of bricks by some of the waste bins....... but no.... put it on the grass....:madder:

We use disposable bar-b`s.. (Due to just two of us and lack of space in the van for a big one.) but we carry an old metal caravan step which has had the non-slip rubber taken off.. Works a treat... (y)

Just saying.....

It was on the news today. People are now burying smouldering BBQ's in the sand on beaches rather than take them away and children and dogs are stepping on them and getting burnt. Makes me so angry too.

just saying,,,,,,,,, why do so many people with dogs allow them to crap and not pick it up ???

You have never seen me or my wife walk away from our dogs droppings... :frowny:

And what has that got to do with disposable barbies.. ???

I've found most campsites are on top of this and ban BBQ's directly on the grass.
Some even provide a metal stand if requested as apart from being an eyesore it's also a fire hazard in times of dry weather.
I'd say Norden Farm need to up their game and introduce some guidance for their customers

I have no idea who either of you are, however, It is just as annoying as a burnt bit of grass that will regrow to see the amount of dog muck that is left around to spread diseases
Dog feces are one of the most common carriers of the following diseases:
  • Whipworms.
  • Hookworms.
  • Roundworms.
  • Tapeworms.
  • Parvo.
  • Corona.
  • Giardiasis.
  • Salmonellosis.

I wonder how long they will be able to be sold for.
House coal was banned last year due to pollution.
We were in the new forest last year at Holland’s wood Brockenhurst, the whole site stunk of lighter fuel.
Hate the stuff we bought a gas bbq/ hot plate type, no more burnt food and ready to cook in under 5mins.

I find that such a sad statement, were has people's common sense and respect gone that they need guidelines to do the right thing, it's people with these attitudes that nurtures a Nanny State then complain about it.

I cannot see for the life of me why dog crap came onto a thread which was a bit of a moan and a genuine suggestion to those who use disposable barbies..

And only the second post into the thread...:lipssealed:

I'm with you. The smell on some sites of lighter fuel is so strong sometimes. We have a gas BBQ too.

Burnt grass will regrow, dog poo will decompose.
Both annoying behaviour by inconsiderate people, that's the world we live in.

Wrong thread mate.. 🤔
Not really...... we were being told that the Op was walking his dog........ just an observation..... surely entitled to an opinion.... and a comment, I'm sure that he would not allow his animal to crap and not pick up.....but just commenting on the number of people who don't

Start one regarding dog crap....

I agree it's sad people have to be told how to behave where their common sense should be telling them, but some people these days need telling as they lack the necessary common sense.
People shouldn't need to be told to pick up dog poo but there are millions of signs throughout the country telling people to
pick up and ...........

We do have a small gas cooker for doing the bacon and sausages outside. (Cos of the spitting fat.)

But you cannot beat burnt chops on a charcoal barbie.. :giggler:

In my view they should be totally banned

I’m usually washing up after eating my steak by the time the bbq is at its optimum temp for cooking on

What amazes me is that a geezer what never cooks a thing in the kitchen (are you listening Chris :giggler:) suddenly becomes a cooking god as soon as the bbq comes out.:whistle2:
Excuse me!

Last night I cooked perfectly seasoned Richmond sausages, beautifully mashed potatoes and baked beans.

It went down a treat(y)

We’ve a lovely park near us, lots of ponds and wildlife. It’s a lovely setting. The council have put picnic benches, the recycled plastic type, dotted all around. They now all have big ugly melted patches all over where dumb people have used disposable bbqs on the top of them.

Common sense unfortunately is not on University Degree Courses..BUSBY.

How about if a dog ate a disposable BBQ then crapped it out

Would that be allowed on this thread?😂😂
Probably! Lets put another irrelevant point in, I've got a blue car, what colours yours? Not really relevant to the opening post is it?
