Bike rack signs for Italy

How strict are they in Italy with signs for bike rack , it says they have to be in aluminium. I have a plastic fiamna one , surely that good enough

I’ve travelled throughout Italy & Spain with the Fiamma plastic ones without problem, but it is illegal in those countries and I took the risk knowingly.

My understanding is that the law states all additional items, such as signs, number plates etc attached to the vehicle must be aluminium, hence plastic being illegal.

There was a time, I believe, all number plates here were aluminium too 😜

I would imagine you would be fairly unlucky to get fined for using a plastic one....🤔🇪🇦

An aluminium sign is about 30 quid.. Why not just buy one for a worry free holiday.

Or simply glue a strip of aluminium plate on the rear of the plastic one, problem solved !

I never knew that, and travelled through Italy with the plastic Fiamma ones without a problem

The Metal type can also scratch your bike....I have one metal one on back of motorhome and one plastic one on car....just how flash is that....
