I think we're going to go with Vodafone. Mobile router, 30gb a month for £25, no cap.
That's the contract data allowance per month but when abroad some providers limit the amount of UK data allowance that you can use there, eg we have a '3' contract for 40gb a month, but it is capped so we can only use 12gb a month abroad ... some are up to 15gb a month, some don't 'cap' at all.I'm confused, isn't 30gb a cap..?

This is what we have done with plusnet mobile 3gb 1000 minutes £8 a month 1 month contract. Plusnet uses EE network. Now that it doesn't cost extra for Europe we have taken out a 12 month contract with Tesco (o2) 3gb,1000 minutes and 5000 texts for £10,we buy our own phones. In the past we were on pay monthly when at home and changed to paygo when going abroad, got a mifi and used 3 with a 12gb 12 month sim on previous trips. No limit with Tesco when abroad so might not need the mifi in future, you can also tether with them.

Pay as you go 3 sim is limited to 9gb per month too. It's written in the roaming terms and I fell foul of it this month. Luckily I had a second sim to top up

Sorry I was talking about the 3 data sim. I have the internet with legs sim (12gb) and when it ran in France out I just topped it back up but when I passed 9gb within a month it cut outBut no European Roaming

With Plusnet you get double allowances if you are a broadband customer and if you phone them you can get an even better deal. I got 5GB & 2000 min for £10/month, 1 month contract. This is what we have done with plusnet mobile 3gb 1000 minutes £8 a month 1 month contract. Plusnet uses EE network.

Does the sim allow tethering? I couldn't find anything on tethering on the Vodafone website. Thanks everyone, I have switched from Threee to Vodaphone on a 1 month contract. 8GB, Unlimited mis etc.

I'm considering getting a Vodafone sim for the MiFi for our trip to Italy. I know the Three sim will work there but Vodafone might be faster.
