Hi,
long time since I've posted but been in spain for a long time and am planning a trip to the UK end of jan and was wondering which was the best route in view of the awfull weather. Alicanti to Calais avoiding tolls, time no problem. Weather here is 15 degrees day time 5-7 at night, when the suns out it can hit 28 in direct sun, not looking forward to the arctic weather in blighty but we will be back in the sun again late Feb.

Can't advise you on a route, other than to check out cheap flights with Jet2 or similar. If France is anything like as bad as it is here in the UK, I wouldn't want to be driving in it

Can't fly as we need to bring two dogs with us

hi denboy, not sure about spanish side but from southern france you can take n10 up to paris then n1 up to calais, n10 mostly dual carriageway.:thumb:
