Thanks to the wonderful people on this site, I now know I’ll be able to get an EU passport for my Lottie. First though, i need to get over there! 🤣

What’s the best price you’ve found for an AHC? My current Vet wants £250 🥺

I live in Nottinghamshire but in Norfolk at the mo, happy to go anywhere in between or anywhere nearer the chunnel.

Thanks in advance

£149 last October for my 2 pups by the vet in Langstone near Havant.

Very good and sailed straight through pet control at the tunnel.

There are a fair few that are being refused travel as the AHC has not been filled out correctly so best go with recommendations rather than cheap price I think.

£60 for certificate and she had to have rabies before that which was about the same so pretty reasonable me thinks

I had to pay £220 for my two dogs- I have now got French passports for them and will be trying them for the first time next Wednesday🤞

Thanks everyone… Looking through previous threads, theres a Vets in Folkestone that does them for £99. You pass all the details online in advance and then collect the AHC completed within a week. That sounds like it’s been successful. Lottie has already had her Rabies vacc, so it’s just the AHC.

I’ll definitely be finding someone in the EU and getting her a passport. Thanks for all your advice.

Even at £99 it's a rip off when you see what they charge you in Spain 18€ passport and 12€ 3yrs rabies, £55 for the 3yrs rabies in the UK alone.

Abbeywell vets at Folkstone 👍👍👍 we used them last Friday and no problems at all. Just email them with details (copies of existing passport etc) and date you wish to collect and it’s ready for collection. We just drove around the roundabouts as too big to fit in a car park but no problems at all.

Hi, where in Spain did you get the passports. We are due over in a couple of weeks and would like to get the 3 year rabies jab for our old boy and a passport.

See the first pic we went to La Zenia, massive carpark right next to it you can even stop there if needed.

To me it looks like a lottery, vets not too far from each other charging massively different amounts.
In my mind there should be a set fee. Much like for the MOT, but they are allowed to charge less if they want to.
Another rip off.

I spoke to a guy on our site this morning told him about the passport he went 2 weeks ago to get one and was charged 47€ without registration. 🤷‍♂️

Still a bargain my biggest concern was the 3yrs rabies.

How do you get a passport in say france or spain? do you have to be resident?
We have been quoted prices from£250 to £285 for AHC with 3 cats on same certifciate.
If we could get them passports whist over in france when we travel we would like to. How do you go about doing this. all 3 had valid passports prior to brexit.

Some threads to read here which have loads of info on:

For the AHC go to Abbeywell at Folkestone, £99 first pet, then £30 each subsequent pet.

Hi, this is a great idea, how did you get these, did you have to go to the country or is it something you can do online? Would you be able to give me information or a link please?. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

you can only get an EU pet passport in the country of issue, and France is the most difficult.

you will need to comply with current entry regs for your pet into the EU then locate a friendly vet who will issue a passport.

in the links for threads above you will find a load of very usefull info.

to get full access you may need to subscribe as you onl get 5 posts as a new free member.
