Benidorm

Another thumbs up for Casa Pepi . 4 courses for 14.50 Euros with half a bottle of wine .
Thomas front of house while his wife cooks . Always had good traditional Spanish food there , but you do need to book and he closes quite early , around 10.

Thomas can come across as a bit grumpy at first but he seems to warm to you and can be quite funny.
We loved Thomas! We’ve been to his old restaurant a few times. He reminded us of Basil Fawlty at first, but when we went there with my ukey girlfriends who’d come to visit us, by the end of the night he was kissing our hands, calling us ‘hermosas damas’ (his wife was out of earshot 🤣) giving us free liquors and generally being the perfect mein host!

A long shot but worth asking, my wife left her walking boots in a rush to get away to Spain and as I know many of you will be heading this way for Christmas/ new year, It would be appreciated if they could be brought out from the UK, beer tokens readily given😁
we are booked on Villasol From 21 December to the 10 January, so if you can help please PM me
many thanks

I'm sailing out round about that time and heading to Villasol. Driving down to the ferry from NE Scotland. You are maybe needing them brought out before that though are you?

If you are only going to be in Benidorm for a short time I would recommend Camping Villasol as it is the nearest site to the centre (doesn't take dogs though).
It will be a shock after staying at Marina d'Or, everything is open with sunbeds on the beach and people still swimming in the sea.

If you want a good paella make sure you go into a proper Spanish restaurant and don't order one unless it says minimum 2 persons or you will not get a freshly made one.
You would probably need to go to the Poniente beach to find a good paella rather than the Levante beach (nearest all the campsites) which is more touristy.
Where would you stay if you had a dog?
Thanks

Dave, before I forget and with apologies to Twitters, for a quick hijack of the thread, one reminder for you and Di - DON’T FORGET TO PACK YOUR DARTS!

I’ve rejoined my darts team here in Keynsham, and I checked out on 96 last night - bring it on you Sandancers

Must have been luck that Ger 😜

Darts aren't packed yet as we are having daily darts off every afternoon 🏆🎯

I’ll have you know I thrashed my opponent 2:0 with an abundance of triple 19s and 1st attempt ‘double to finish’ winners

The doubles match didn’t go quite so well though - I think I peaked too early - still the team won 4:3 so no harm done!

PS - our doubles match was against a girl who had scored a 180 earlier on in the evening!

For your dog to qualify at Torreta it needs to be one that barks all night when you go out 👌
