being on time for appointments

so as title says being on time .saturday morning chap has a mot booked for 8am no show at 815 no problem other stuff to do then at 8.43 turns up wants mot doing so i say sure will do will have to juggle other bookings [get extra tester to do a test ] as customer hands keys over i ask any thing i should know with regards to starting vehicle [fiat ducato motorhome ] reply is no then adds that the airbag light is displayed .tell him its a fail should i proceed with test . customer says just delete it its no big problem .i reply its a cost to diagnose fault with a strong chance of further work reqd he says no .so we agree to disagree he goes away having wasted my time and causing me to question my actions thinking should of kept my mouth shut and just done mot with the outcome a sure fail .

Just fail him if thats the regs. I had warning light on my volvo. Urgent air bag warning light. Defo mot fail cost £1000 quid to sort out. But had it done i dont ask for mot favours.

Unless of course he was a “secret shopper” for VOSA. Stranger things have happened.
He then tells his mates where you can get a dodgy mot done and suddenly you’re out of business.
 
As others have said just say nothing and feel good when you hand over the fail sheet. You’re too honest and brought up that way. A lot of garages would tell him to re book another test because he missed the first appointment.

It's a pity there's not a way to enter the fault on the mot system to give any other garage a heads up and make it harder to buy an mot if he finds someone dodgy.

Fitting a kitchen on new build and the bricky says they've designed the conservatory walls that he's build wrong, are you going to tell them? No I will get paid to build it, paid to knock it down and paid to build right. ::bigsmile:
