I have a Bailey Approach Autograph 625. The spare tyre is slung underneath the rear end of the vehicle. The question is simple - How do I get the damn thing out so I can use it?

Inside the vehicle towards the rear there is a circular plastic plug in the floor. If I take this out there is another circular plug lower down. Inside this one there is a 'thing' that I cannot describe. Is this anything to do with lowering the tyre from the chassis?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Stephen

From memory on my 625 i think you took the plug out and used the wheel brace to lower the wheel.

Our spare wheel is lowered and raise via this unit bolted to a cross member adjacent to the spare wheel.

Either way I strongly recommend you doing a few practice runs getting it out and putting it back, the one two on tour have is the same as my old elddis, it was a right bitch to do and I consider myself pretty handy😳😳.
unless of course you are going to ring a man up to come and do it by the roadside😉👍

I have the advantage of a £5000 jack which gives me plenty of clearance to get underneath. ;)
