I have a rattle inside this front door on my B544, I've removed the lock cover but not enough room to see or do anything and the inside is covered with a plastic film/sheet.
There are only 2 screws on the hinge side and no other obvious fixings, the metal band is very tight and no obvious way its attached to the door, and if you can see there are metal dowels through it but I've no idea what they re for.

So, has anyone any idea how to remove this inner door panel ? a chap on Facebook Hymer Group has had his B678 to a (non Hymer) dealer and they are loathe to try to remove this door panel, and have asked Hymer for instructions which are not forthcoming (after a couple months no replay from Hymer).

I feel your pain. I spent a day last week trying to remove the inner lining of my Carthago door to get to the locking mechanism. I gave up in the end.....they don't make it easy.

The left hand cover on your door should just ping off but that probably won't get you very far.

Sorry can't help but the bump might bring other responses.

I wonder if these are not made by Hymer but bought in ready made from say Hartal ?

I'm sure that is the case. The guys at Reliance in Chichester, West Sussex would probably know the manufacturer of the Hymer doors. Chris Davies is the man to speak to.

Would it be possible to drill a hole in hinge side and put a endoscope in to have look and then fit a blank grommet in the hole.

Just a thought...are you sure the rattling is from inside the door? I ask because we've "mis-heard" noises or rattles in our Moho. One such noise was actually from the overcab bed. Yes, I know, we are both due a hearing test.

I've just had a look at mine, that looks identical to your door, and it is not obvious how to get into it. A possible line of help would be a specialist motorhome vehicle body repairer with hymer knowledge, they must take a few doors off.
A few years back, I had a rattle on my Hymer, I could get no answers but happened to pass a local motorhome body repair shop, called in and they told me exactly what the problem was and how to fix it (the araldite used to secure a captive fitting had degraded and was allowing the mount to move). If all else fails, may be worth a try.

Hi. Sorry to possibly divert your thread but is the step on the underside of the cab door something you had fitted as an extra? We have a 544 but have to absail up into the cab ( vertically challenged) ?

They are not always fitted but you can get them as an extra?

We bought ours second hand, though it was fitted as a factory option, Project 2000 if I recall.

I wouldn't bother unless you really need it as it lowers the ground clearance quite a bit, I grounded mine quite a few times.
If you are going to fit one get the Thule one the Project 2000 is a right load of junk, I've had to repair mine 3 times.

Thanks guys .. small plastic step on a hoisting string now in planning.. no expense spent !
