the 3ltr x250 has never had any modifications regarding Juddergate, according to my source at Fiat none are necessary. My previous Auto-Trail was a 3ltr and was no trouble at all, it was only when the 2.3's problems were sorted that I decided to get one. The 3ltr was very thirsty but sound.
Unfortunately your Fiat source is wrong, or mis-informed.
It is the 3ltr that has the most problems with the judder and the only reason that no mods are necessary is that none are available.
The official cure, from Fiat in Italy, is to increase the revs when reversing.
This is well documented elsewhere and has been ongoing for a number of years.
You are right when you say that the 3ltr is sound, it is reverse gear which is too high. As you say, thirsty but sound. :thumb:
