I am thinking of changing my hymer c546 for an imala but cant find any info on lockers to keep awning ground sheets camping chairs wheel chocks ground pegs wellies and wet gear. These were accomodated in the hymers under van storage. How do you owners of the imala 620 manage?

Never had the 620 but had the 615. I have to say that almost everything I have in the Apache 634 squeezed in to the under seat locker, even Milenco quads. I have a bigger locker now so carry some more stuff but the 615 was sufficient. So, in the 615 locker I had Milenco quads, small table, Coveva 9m windbreak, picnic rug, 2 x EHU cables, collapsible bucket, rock pegs, 4.5m Fiamma awning carpet, 2 foldable chairs, tool bag, jump leads, parasol, 50ft hose, 2 x shoe trays, 2 x small carpets (6ft x 2-1/2ft) and some bits and bobs. I have never had wellies but kept wet/dirty shoes either under than van or on shoe trays in the footwell. We used the van for three years from new in 2015 and never really though we needed any more stuff for the two of us and a 40kg lab. Good luck(y)

I had a 620 (for a very short time) and like Steve, we squeezed everything in ,but always struggled with the fact that it really WAS squeezed in and everything had to come out if you wanted the first thing in (sods law?)

A bit of a pain in inclement weather
we had the HiLine and found the overcab area a god send for bags and bedding etc

Just wanted to make it clear that we didn't squeeze a 40kg lab into the locker

We did the Imala thing when we first got into motorhoming but the storage of gear became a real pain in the arse. We used the shower as the drying room which was handy though.

We only kept our new Autotrail for 3-4 months as it was easier to get rid of the thing than to fix the endless list of repairs.

We then moved to a new van (Pilote) with a large rear garage and it was so refreshing to be able to place the Milenco Quattro ramps and all the other gear directly into the boot. The external locker of the Imala was too small for the ramps so I had no choice than to lug them through the hab area and stuff them under the sofa - what a pain in the arse.

Thanks all for your useful replies. Just emptied my lockers an can match item for item with ABZsteve and bearing in mind one of my bunks is full of the fresh water container all the items will fit in there with lots of extra room. Thinks? where is the water container in the 620 and also the spare wheel? Will be using cheshirecatz57 overscab solution for the chairs and our tv aerial. Thinks? we have seen several autotrails with tv but not noticed an aerial do they come fitted? We looked at the Pilote but it didnt match our sleeping arrangements also the Adria vision but that was rated at 3750 kg, too heavy for my licence. We are also thinking of adding caravan type steadies to the rear to reduce the roll. If its got an alko chasis the fixing holes should be there. Disappointing to hear Blue Knights experience could you share some of the repairs you needed.

Push up directional aerial from inside wardrobe. Not sure where the water container is but underslung. Spare wheel under the chassis. I have a few other things that I would like to share with you prior to purchase.

We haven't found one yet just had a close look at the literature. we had a look at a 2019 tribute with a 265ved but the layout didn't suit. Will welcome any observations on the 620.

Sitting in our 615 in Spain at the moment. We have had it 5years since new and find the storage more than adequate for 2 + a collie (for 3 years it was 2 collies. The only things we can’t store in lockers are our chairs which are have high backs. They travel behind the cab seats and in the cab or under the van when parked up. Last time we had so much kitchen storage was over 20 years ago in a caravan.

We have this type of chair. If you go for the highline, you will have room to store a flat chair overhead (y)
