Hi I’ve got an Autotrail Cheyenne 840d and I’m having trouble with 12v electrics.when I’m on hook up all works ok if I come off hook up and set to van battery on Sargent controller again all 12v systems work but as soon as I set to leisure batteries the controller says dangerously low voltage so I naturally thought the batteries were u/s. Took bateries to garage and had drop test done both batteries ok,came home and checked solar panel that seems to be working ok so it seems that the 12v is not getting into the system from the leisure batteries has anybody got any idea what could be wrong or has anyone had something similar it’s driving me mad👍

When on ehu what charge voltage is going to the leisure batteries ?
If battery is flat it should be 14 v ish

That’s the thing the batteries aren’t flat and I’m getting 14.4volts from the solar panel but the Sargent controller says dangerously low voltage then shows 0 volts do you think the controller could be u/s?

Ring Sargent's they are very good.

It may be as simple as a blown fuse? Finding said fuse could be the interesting challenge. Most could be part of the Sargent unit, but there will also be a master fuse somewhere between the leisure battery and Sargent system.

The main leisure battery fuse is usually about 30A to 50A, located very near the leisure battery. If the fuse is OK, check that the battery voltage is reaching the fuse terminal.

If that all checks out, there will be a main terminal on the Sargent unit where the leisure battery power arrives, so check the battery voltage is reaching that point.

A drop test is not much use for a leisure battery. As batteries age, the voltage appears to show fully charged, but the capacity rapidly reduces. It does sound like a bad connector or fuse though

The van on hook up will work directly from the battery charger output voltage.
